In any case Akuma in SSFIV won’t be as much as stylished than he was in SFIV:no more loop, HK nerfed, and ridiculous second ultra.
The developers had said that they won’t change character’s gameplay but all the work done about loop or hado FADC HK fall through…Disappointing
so basically the Roflcopter ultra does less damage than your standard FADC combo and on top of that it does no stun…hmnnnn, let me think…i can use 2 bars for 450 damage and 800 stun or 1 bar for 400 damage and 0 stun…fuck you capcom. The nerf on raging demon’s damage is the icing on the cake.

Hmm, seems like that’s against the whole trend of making the game more offensive. I main a character who often needs his ultra to survive a match against stronger players, so that’s disappointing… but I’ll try to reserve my thoughts better until we get more info.
that is some other nonsense by capcom. They should have toned down the damage only on those ultras that can basically be landed 9 rounds out of 10 (sagat, ryu, rog, cammy abel etc etc) but on “punish” ultras like the raging demon the damage should be high since there is no way to combo into it and you’re only gonna land it if your opponent does a severe mistake. If the spam a shoryu out of nowhere and you block it, they deserve those 600 damage

lol even if the animation isn’t full, cammy’s ultra after a FADCed spike does more damage than ryu’s srk fadc ultra. A good cammy WILL land her ultra often, too bad you probably never played a good one (or even worse, you can’t play her the way she should be played).

How much does ryu his shoryuken fadc ultra does 450 damage?
Cammy fadc ultra does 150 + 460(and 360 if you are to late or in the corner)+70(lvl2 ultra) so between 250 and 310 for lvl2 ultra so in best case the same damage.
+the fact that if you burn 2 meters for ultra attempt with cammy you lost them.
With ryu you can do a mixup after block.
And the fact that u can shoryuken fadc go to the toilet,come back and still can land the ultra
And the fact that if you are to late with ryu no harm is done,mess up with cammy and you are in for trouble
I would take ryu his ultra any time off the day over cammy’s
And its not like cammy is on top of the list too…
tbh, After all that’s been done to Akuma, I’m not even going to buy SSF4. Akuma’s HK nerf wasn’t that bad (it still really sucked, the move itself wasn’t even great in the first place), then the new ultra, then other combos being cut out due to the HK startup, and now his ultra now does less damage, so nobody will fear the demon at all now. Akuma is going to be a joke (especially with the roflcopter). It seems to me that Capcom has it out for Akuma, all he needed really was a few more recovery frames on his teleport, that’s it. What is the point of using Akuma if he’s just a weak Ryu? It seems that’s what they are going for, they already did it with Ken, why not nerf all shotos so everyone will pick Ryu instead?? It sure is a fun game when half the people are using one character.

I’m not saying that cammy’s ultra is better than ryu’s one…we all know ryu’s ultra is the second best after sagat’s. This doesn’t change the fact that a GOOD cammy player will still land A LOT of ultras while even a good akuma probably won’t land a single one if he’s playing against someone who doesn’t do a stupid fuckup.
Cammy’s fadc into ultra is VERY viable due to her throw mixups and on top of that it goes through fireballs from a decent distance. I’m sure 80% of the cast would trade his ultra with cammy’s one
A lot of you guys are complaining about Akuma’s changes which in essence stand to bring him a little closer to the rest of the cast whilst retaining a substantial, if not majority of his play-style, mix-ups, combos, etc.
Which begs the question: Do you feel Akuma in his current state is somewhat advantageous? Are you concerned that these changes trade in some of those advantages? Would you say these new changes ruin Akuma or simply shuffle him down the tiers a little closer to the rest of the cast which by definition is an act of balance and fairness which is what many people seem to be arguing for more of in Super.
I’m genuinely curious. Thoughts?
Personally i’m not angry for the nerf per se, i’m angry because Sagat got a ridiculous nerf (50 less life a 10 less damage on TU, whoooaaa, gamebreaking) but got a good brand new move, Ryu also got a ridiculous nerf and a very good Ultra 2.
What did Akuma get? Jack shit, a new ultra that sucks ass and a nerf to his arguably best normal.

I used to main Akuma badly in SF4. His Ultra 1 now only does 510 dmg. All the stuff about HK is true. However Zak Bennet is a REALLY good Akuma player here and to be honest he hardly uses the loops or FADC combos. I just see him mix people up into oblivion and land cr.LK into combos all day. So I am sure he will still be very effective.
Akuma is a very good character in SFIV but he requires a lot of practice to optimize his strength.
While Ryu is pretty easy to play, and very profitable, that’s why 7 players out of 10 use him.
I think Akuma is at the same level than Ryu in SFIV because metsu hadoken is very easy to manage (shoryu SADC,light shoryu, shakunetsu SADC etc etc), while Akuma needs to cancel some Roundhouse or crouch MK to land his WOTRD, so I think that it is “fair” that his Ultra removes a lot of PV.
Concerning his HK, I just hope that it is still possible to stand up crouching opponent behind hadoken SADC, that’s all I want, no matter if the loop is removed, after all this is fair.But just remove the loop Capcom please,don’t change anything else on Akuma’s gameplay!
And change this ultra II…because it’s a shame.

This is 100% not possible from jab jab combos. It works from crouching medium into fireball from a certain range. And counter hit strong still allows you to combo into it, but not on reaction.
