Akuma’s ultra is not a grapple move (his super is), it is more of taking off options from the opponent, like how every jump in is countered by ultra, or ultra’ing after blocking any blanka balls (no puns please), after blocking guile’s Cr.Hk first attack, and such.

If the damage was too low it wouldn’t even be worth it at that point, since Akuma’s BNB combos generally do a bunch of damage as it is. There has to be some incentive.
Minor negative frames on blocked standing round-house wouldn’t be a bad idea.
FADC’d EX red fireball after a 4 hit BnB adds 90 damage, whereas the ultra would add 150 damage. That’s a lot more.
That’s not including all its other uses.

Cuz i am one for that his air hadokens needs faster recovery frame time. Like How stupid is ryu with all his instant recovery frames.
a lot of characters can duck the second hit and do some major damage (fierce xx fierce srk fadc ultra anyone?) if the rh is poorly spaced. I don’t think it needs more negative frames on block

I worry about Akuma’s future.
Why? Because Capcom have actually crafted a very well designed character in IV who exhibits a very interesting balance. Any manipulation of what is currently set in stone (and this includes the addition of a new Ultra) stands to potentially screw him up.
Provided they don’t screw with anything he currently has, his new Ultra is perhaps the biggest concern. Too simple to combo into makes him a potentially overpowered wrecking ball UNLESS said Ultra is quite weak and scales heavily. A new Ultra that one CANNOT combo into ala his existing options is perhaps the fairest route that will preserve the balance and traits he enjoys while at the same time ushering in some new setups and play-styles that help land his new Ultra. Frankly the only option that fits this bill from where I’m sitting (sans a new Ultra entirely) is SF3’s KKZ super.
I wasn’t a big player of 3 but I’m of the understanding it was largely a stand-alone super that couldn’t be comboed into akin to say Ken or Chun’s super options. Is this the case? Do you guys feel his new Ultra also being one that CANNOT be comboed into is the logical route to take?

Sagat is the best character and the best for Noobs! NEEDS BIG DAMAGE REDUCE cuz he gots "EVERYTHING"
Ryu is the NOOBIEST character and for noobs who cant combo for crap! His damage scale slightly reduced
Blank is fine as i c him cuz his damage is fine.
Balrog is fine but his Jabs must be grabable now in SSFIV
Ken Needs improvements.
E.Honda Damage scale or priority needs to be down.
Bison is ok needs an Overhead though and something else.
Vega needs slight adjustments
Gouken needs to be advanced a bit more.
C.Viper perfect for pros who are technical.
Gen another Perfect Technical Character.
El Fuerte needs to GTFO he is the most annoying character in this entire game.
Seth needs a slight damage buff.
Sakura needs slight adjustments.
Rose needs to be the one from Alpha 3.
Fei Long needs to be Agressive Tech player.
Akuma needs his health and stamina up, including wat i said above. BnB dont always work but they are good but FFS Akuma gets punished for the smallest mistakes. Which is BIG Mistakes in his part.
Chun-Li is the most balanced character of all the characters! But her H.Jump to H.Kick needs only lower half body hitbox. Not a complete Circle that she hits even if your above her! (Happened Several Times)
Guile is fine just wow idk wat to say for his improvements he needs to be like SF2.
Dhalsim: he’s at his Prime in a way but idk much about him.

Thats my opinion because seriously all have flaws and cant get around certain moves. Tekken 6 FTW for technical and even battles but SSFIV FTW as my game to the heart.
Dun care about ppl’s johns cuz if you think Ryu is fair character and Akuma is not then you need to go Take a Hike to the Himilayas with 3 packs of crackers a bikini or swim suit and go skinny dipping in a frozen lake around there.
Stop asking for tweaks that will offset your weaknesses. I main akuma, but I dont want a broken game. Hes pretty much fine as is, but I am sure they will do a good job with adding a super/ultra. They are on track with this series imo.

My Akuma changes/fixes
High Priority:
Able to demon flip cross up in the left corner. (Or take away the right corner demon flip crossup to make both sides equal)
Replace Super with Messatsu Gohadouken whose damage and stun vary depending on which punch used (jab = 100 dmg/400 stun - strong = 250 dmg/200 stun - fierce = 400 dmg/ 0 stun)
Second Ultra to be Misogi. (Since there is no Parrying - Gouken excluded - , Air Blocking, or Air Teching in SSFIV, KKZ would essentially prevent all opponents from jumping in when he gets ultra unless they seriously neuter the damage and/or range of the Ultra, or give all opponents a way to avoid it while jumping in)
Low Priority:
Able to perform demon flip grab on airborne opponents only while Akuma is rising.
Able to tatsu to sweep all characters.
On another note, if they add air focusing, like Gouken’s air parry, to all characters, the KKZ might work without being overpowered.
