Do a delayed DF kick for ken to stuff the MP srk and mix it in with empty jump crouch tech, going into a bnb if the lk comes out. Also, make sure you sweep him just before he lands if he does a lp srk. Never tried punishing it with a combo since I’m assuming his next srk will hit before the st.hp comes out. If ken blocks on wakeup, do DF throws until he starts to do srks again or backdashes. If he backdashes on wakeup, DF palm os sweep or you can be silly and try to catch him with a super.
delay the sweep a bit after the palm, so that if she EX pinwheels you block, and if she backdashes you sweep.
It’s not the backdash that gets me, I’m cool with letting her run away (I’m not really proficient enough with OS at the moment - still workin’ on it though). It’s her just doing EX pinwheels on any wakeup pressure I do. I usually go for one at first, but if I see they like to EX pinwheel on wakeup, then I usually refrain from trying again, unless it’s for a cross-up.
Still, you can only do a cross-up so many times before they get wise and just start blocking that too… Unless they’re total n00bs, but then if they are, I usually don’t have that much problem with them on wakeup anyways.
I’m sure it’s just my timing - I’m probably not cancelling the MK DF after the 2nd dash fast enough. Maybe I should try dash x2, Jump Forward HK safe jump on her?..

I don’t think i’ve EVER been hit by a wakeup ex pinwheel when going for df palm…that shit is just mad easy to safejump…it’s not cammy’s dp or blanka’s ex upball.
Just practice safejumping her with df palm, it’ll be a breeze once you get the timing…no need for specific setups.
Anyways, yeah, good juri’s that can zone well are a real pain in the ass. If they keep her upwards hado charged all the time it can get really difficult to get in. Not to mention her dive kicks are annoying as hell.
I went up against a decent Juri. Poked and zoned really well, knew his setups / combos etc. I found that if her fireballs are giving you trouble, try and move in and as she let’s one go, focus absorb and dash IN, not out. She really can’t do anything to punish it and it helps close the distance
I use dash in and sweep against a lot of fireball zoners and it’s been very successful. Just don’t get predictable
Usually good Juri’s don’t zone with FB, they like to use Dive Kick at tip range. That usually fucks me up because I don’t know if I should SRK it (whiffs and they punish) or if I should stick out a poke (usually stuff anything I stick out low).
How about st. HP - Would it stuff her dive kicks like it stuffs Adon’s Jaguar Tooths?

What’s the best way to punish a bison after OS srk’ing a wakeup ex headstomp?
I keep getting bodied by a good Cody online, this guy is such a dick, but alas he is good. Anyone have any advice against Cody? I’m sure I just need more exposure to the matchup and probably to be a bit more patient, but he has a few good answers for Gouki. EX slide beasts air FB and his launch kick is pretty confirmable against DF which means “Jackpot!” free ultra. Cody’s pokes are also good and lead to good damage.
Advice?
I say zone that bitch as best you can. Keep it limited or unpredictable when he has meter for that slide. Cody does mad retarded grappler-like damage for no meter, you need to stay the fuck away until you get that knockdown. Then it’s free game.

I cannot beat decent Makotos. T_T Her AA punch beats all vortex options, I haven’t found the timing or spacing to stuff it. Her s.mp is ridiculous too. And finally, there’s her backdash, which leaves me dumbfounded everytime she escapes the second hit of s.hk. >_>
I can’t check right now, but wouldn’t a meaty jump-in beat her AA punch thing clean on wakeup? I’d assume meaty jump-in option select SRK or sweep would beat all of her options, try to check in training mode recording Akuma’s forward throw x 2 dashes then immediately jump in with roundhouse, then check what are Makoto’s options (add option selects later to Akuma’s jump in to try shutting down everything she has).
All I do in this matchup is fs. rh, and if they block, then cr. strong hopefully i get the counterhit. If no counterhit, i usually do the fs. rh again, lol. Otherwise, x-up tatsu works well for vortex options.

^^ Makoto is typically demon’s punching bag. Against the backdash, simply ‘tatsu’, preferably HK. And ground fireball basically neutralizes all dash attacks. Demon flip palm and throw on knockdowns with other mixups for variance and she’s easily raped 9/10 times. Just don’t get caught in her frame traps, teleport, and re-rape accordingly.
I still have probs with good spam Ken, the lp dp and mk, so I zone him until knockdowns.
Against Juri, I try not to jump in especially when she has meter, eating ex-spinwheel. However, a good MK or HK dive kick will stuff it though I have yet to get the exact spacing down thus I opt for flip palm or throw and they work 60% of the time in my experiences.
