I don’t have the PS3 hooked up so I can’t do any testing, but I thought jab DP traded with EX PC or EX SK.

I think the crusher will beat jab dp if you mess up the safe jump. But yeah, I believe ex scissors beats some of the option selects, but bisons don’t normally reversal with ex scissors, considering how unsafe it is. (And they’re all about safety… >_>)

the best DP to OS is jab, HP DP will whiff if they ex DR or ex headstomp to get away. Jab DP will catch ex pc, ex dr, and backdash. The only time i OS with HP dp is if they’re in a corner. (ex pc is their only way out, and in the corner hp dp will catch devils reverse)

OS tatsu if they don’t have meter. But even when he does have meter, he could still teleport away… so you could guess wrong with your OS

os jab srk will OFTEN trade with EX pc…os fierce srk will beat ex pc, ex dr and will whiff only on ex headstomp (which is the less used option btw).

The only plus to jab srk is that if he teleports he cannot punish you with U2

use j.hk or j.hp…does more damage and will give you more hitstun to work with ( =more time to combo makes it easier since you gotta do a lot of inputs).

There is really no point in doing OS with j.mk…if you’re safe jumping you aren’t gonna cross them up anyways

idk, I must be playing a different game or something. Every single time i’ve tried f.dp, it will whiff on ex dr/ex headstomp. The DP goes out horizontally, and misses. Jab DP does trade sometimes, but like i said… that’s only happened when I messed up the safe jump timing.

i just tried again…sweep bison, then immediately jump and do the d.mk dive kick and OS an hp srk…it WILL catch ex DR, but will whiff ex headstomp…

I never understood why d.MK dive kick is used for safe jumps, it has almost no hitstun it seems. Does it throw the opponent off or what?

it gives the timing for an “automatic” safe jump…sorta like after ryu’s sweep…and on opponent’s wakeup the hitstun is more than enough to combo. It also does sometimes throw the opponent off because it changes the trajectory of akuma’s jump

Yes, they’re as simple as that. Be sure to time it so that, when option selecting say, a shoryuken you do it like this: Safe jump HK, (while still in the air) f,d,df and you press MP the moment your HK would hit if he is just blocking. And Bison is very annoying to option select, as you can never shut down all of his options. Other characters usually don’t have this luxury. For example, balrog and gouken get completely destroyed by demon flip palm OS sweep. The only thing left for them to do is block, at which point you can release the whole vortex on them.

Not during the hitstun, but at the moment where the palm would normally hit if they do like a backdash or something. A good way to test this is by doing training mode. Pick balrog and let akuma be your opponent. Then set the training dummy to record and do a sweep followed by the option select. Now set it to play and try whatever with ballrog. Anything you do will be beaten by the option select, except for blocking, if you timed the option select correctly. Headbutts, ex dash punch, ex rush punch, everything. Yep, you can do that same sweep OS for a regular safe jump (obviously) and it works really good against viper, chun etc. OS sweep against viper shuts down all of her options. The safe jump will save you from HP thunder knuckle, and the sweep will beat backdash and ex seismo, it’ll also whiff if she does ex flame kick, which then you can sweep her again when she lands (I THINK)

Also a quick note, against both viper and chun you have to delay the sweep a little, because of their reversals. If you input the OS too quickly against these 2 characters, their reversal will actually catch your sweep. (Thanks to shin akuma for telling me that<3) I hope that’s not too confusing?
