that option select is nice, you dont need it to safejump though and beat his messiah kick since you can block + ex uppercut, but it does prevent rufus from FADC’ing out assuming he had 3 meter. i’ll try that out sometime.

Safe jump block in that situation is smart if you know for a fact that he will messiah on wake up. But what if he doesn’t do it? You’ll just sit there blocking? probably get thrown or something? With OS you are safe AND you can do a follow up.

One thing I noticed and this was way before until I saw this thread, Akuma’s teleport can be punished by Dudley’s non-EX and EX Machine Gun Blow because his teleport has a little late recovery, like Bison’s. So I guess you could add that so people are aware of the consequences Akuma will face is he is caught teleporting. I am still testing more to find out ways to not have Akuma punished.

I just palm strike his wake up. If he does nothing and blocks you can follow up with a block string. If he does anything you can block and punish.

Seems palm is now very abuseable and safe for the wakeup game. Not that it wasn’t before.

Exactly, I main Dudley and caught a teleporting Akuma with and U2 after MGB, Duck under juggle, which takes away almost half (didn’t check the full damage in training, yet) but yeah just becareful.

If you safe jump correctly and they block then you hit with your j.HK and can continue with your pressure string.

Im having a bit of trouble with the Ryu matchup, like I dont know what should I be aiming for or how am I supposed to play the match up (the info in the 1st post doesnt cut it for me =/)

any help?

Its tough and has had a few pages dedicated to it in this thread. It all boils down to one sage piece of advice I read:

“Be the better shoto.”

Its that simple really. Shoto VS shoto typically involves a similar approach for both players but with Akuma bringing a couple more options to the table. Play safe and try and invest in footsies where possible. Punish everything and punish hard. You’ll need to be specific about where you’re having trouble though mate.

What’s the start-up on Chun EX SBK? Unless it’s 4 frames I don’t know why Im having so much trouble safe jumping it. I was eassily safe jumping characters like Cammy.

It is a 6 frame start up. It should be one of the easiest to safe jump.

Wow, that’s so bizarre man. Does she get up slightly faster/slower than other chars?

Any advice on bison guys? I option selected this really solid bison yesterday did everything good it was all n all just back n forth, his rush down did a number and the light kick hoo haa including standing hard kick was alot to deal with.

I know I lack good fireball close up zoning but anything else I could get help on. I OS raging demon as well

Make sure you do your best to stand your ground. Don’t let Bison bully you too much with standing forward and roundhouse. Your low forward beats those. Other than that, you’ve really just gotta get that knock down and mix him up. Once he gets out of your vortex or you do something that’s a techable knockdown, like an SRK combo, just run away if you’re satisfied whit your life lead. Remember Bison always wants to be at either standing forward/round house range, or toes to toes so he can apply low short pressure. You own all other ranges.

Does OS Demon beat out anything else other than Bison’s backdash and teleport? Psycho Crusher perhaps?

It will beat out EX Psyco if you time your safe jump properly. It can catch him out of the start up frames.
