Where’s the thread where we talk about Claw’s new alt costume in AE?

Slide seems to have less total frames, to me. Hoping it’s recovery. Maybe FADCable? shrug A decent claw will show up in loketest videos eventually.

Just offering my two-cents on the AE changes.

I-Frame EX ST is nice. Its very useful in the cammy matchup specifically.

Was it really needed? No. As stated some matchups will become much easier, especially if you’re good at Auto-correct ST.

Overall : I like it, only because Vega recieved some nerfs in exchange.

Backdash weakened : Meh. Due to the fact of EX-ST being a reversal, I’m no longer as heavily dependant on them anyway, and even then, i bet its still above par, as far as backdashes go.

EX-FBA damage reduction : Its one of the best EX attacks already and does 200 damage. We can live with a sight damage nerf. I bet it wont be any lower then 150. Besides, landing it on characters such as Abel, Hawk, Gief, hakan, and others, basically ensures another free 2-4 izuna drops if done in, or close to the corner.

I feel these changes would only boost Vega’s current position, as far as tiers go.

Yea, actually having a useful/FADCable reversal will make the backdashes/backflips no where near as necessary.

People will have a legit reason to hate Vega now other than the fact he sucks. He’ll be crouching, poking and STing you all day and there ain’t crap you can do about it. W/e made Vega fun is now gone and whats left is a stiff character with a very lineant playstyle. Is it more effective? Yes. Is it more fun? No.You can still mad poke people as a offensive but no CH to mix up with. CH helps Vega’s offensive in the fact that it moves him forward and gives you chance to charge for ST dealing more damage. Now that CH is so risky, who is gonna throw it out? People with good reaction can already SRK you before CH lands and if on hit you screwed up the spacing, you’ll eat a SRK regardless. So…whoopie.
And good luck landing Fierce punch to EX RCF. It’ll happen from time to time but probably 1 out of 20 times against competent opponents. Remember, if you hit j.HP too soon the hitstun won’t be long enough for him to combo. And don’t tell me anyone in the whole world will perform a HP–>EX RCF without jump HP.

I personally, would have alot more fun having I-frames added to Vega’s arsenal.

Ever seen a Honda mirror match before? First to move loses and they all just crouch and wait… zzzzzzzzz Now that EX ST has invincibility, theres little to no reason why you need to get out of crouching half the time. So…Whoopeee… If thats fun crouching all day and poke people with cr. MP and MK thennn sureee fun.

I’m guessing it’s not going to be in there. everyone is clamoring for an offensive game, so wtf would they give vega a reason to turtle his ass off like honda does.

i’m still convinced that change is never gonna happen. and i’m hoping it doesn’t.

Well I hope we either get

A. I-frames on EX ST

OR

B. Vega’s arsenal of normals are tweaked to be more “Chun Li”

And by “Chun Li” I mean his aerial normals needs to start up a tad faster and have more active frames.

His ground normals need to start up faster, recover faster, and have stupid properties where Vega’s hurtbox is moved backwards everytime he touches a poke although a very fast high priority move reaches waaayyy out there.

If they made his normal arsenal more Chun Li, then I’m fine with them making Scarlet terror even more ass than it already is.

Also, I wish they would shrink his hurtbox on his SHC and FBA. They should pull his hurtbox back and down a bit on sweep… You know… so it can trip guard people who push buttons while too high up in the air. It doesn’t even have to be a viable anti air like Chun Li’s broken ass sweep that eliminates her hurtbox almost.

Finally, I want quicker recovery on his sweep, FBA, and SHC. Why? Because this adds to his mobility and elusiveness. First and foremost I want a very elusive and mobile Vega… I would be willing to give up damage on his moves and maybe priority on ST (not that it has any) to get it.

I could go for a Vega w/out I-frames, but if I give up on having I-frames in my arsenal, give me some sick mobility, please sir.

he should be able to play footsies while taking less risks.

guys like dive kick characters and w/e, a bad st. rh to peg a jump out is a possible sweep punish, and it’s not like it’s difficult to do

Same goes for using the st. fierce, period. i pretty much don’t use that move because of how useless it is

i feel as though upping the usefulness of vega’s normals adds much more to his game than an EX invincible move would

it’s an added incentive to keep moving while still using the rest of his pokes.

What I think Vega needs is more options. Against most of the cast I don’t have trouble winning in footsies, due to Vega’s speed and good normals overall, but he has so few tools for mixups. Yes st fierce is not very useful, which is why I don’t use it. But as long as he has cr lp, cr mk, st lk, st mk, cr mp, I think his footsies will still be great.

Taking away CH just made his main problem infinitely worse. I wouldn’t care much for I frames if I had 1. usable ultra, 2. my CH back, 3. 18 frame forward dash. Imagine if Vega had his FBA feint as well, we could have a useful mixup. So few tweaks to make him so usable.

you guys cannot possible tell yourself that if Vega had invul frames on ST he will be honda. you cant do random semi-safe 200 damage headbutts. You dont have a pressure move like cr.lp xx HHS. come on. guile honda dhalsim are the best turtles in the game. Vega wont even compare to that absurdness. All invul frames on ST will do is make wake up not suck.

I hate shc, such a bad move, it’s terrible anti-air, and one of the more situational specials for sure. Worst of all, it’s high risk and low reward. Not to mention the the hitbox isn’t even on his claw -.-;

its supposed to stop certain neutral jumps, cross ups and jump ins where Scarlet Terror wont work. But you need bat shit crazy reaction and a good read which isnt to hard. Learning how to use this shit right now.

so? vega has safe pokes that keep people out of up close range. as soon as they jump, annihilate them. it’s the same principle.

I still don’t understand why ppl are like “I need a reliable anti-air” then someone says “EX ST” and they say “No way! I’d rather use it to guess on my wakeup.”

nobody’s going to knock you down if you can actually lame people out instead of constantly take risks

the whole point is “should i poke? what if they jump in”

so how can you tell me that you would use an invincible move as a random wakeup move and not as an answer to the number one question that basically determines how you play footsies
