if they nerf the back dash i think they’ll go about weakening it, by making it travel less distance. Increased foward dash, i like. and alex what milf means is that when Vega is holding down back your opponent risks a lot when he steps forward.

I vaguely remember reading some poorly translated info that vega’s super now launches on the way up like BHC. If true that would be crazy. Crazy good I mean.

My thoughts exactly. Which is why I’m thinking it’s not true lol. I mean, that change on top of all these other buffs would easily make vega more scary than vanilla sagat ever was. And capcom seems scared of letting any character be TOO good in this game.

I heard something about the smaller hitbox on his super. Nothing about it as a launcher though…that’d be a little crazy with the cancellable rcfs.

If you have THAT much pride feel free to not use the move. Hell, when else were you gonna use the move anyway without it being a combo ender or a juggle follow up? Just let people frame trap you all day like they used to and not use your EX-ST. Play the game exactly as you did in vanilla.

my view on vega is probably a lot similar to jozhear’s, ruggie’s, sasaki’s, etc (or at least last time i checked). so i’ve always felt that invincibility on ex scarlet terror, from a design perspective, was a bad idea. ultimately it would end up removing diversity from the game. vega should be able to distinguish himself from other characters in terms of playstyle; he should have things that only he excels at, along with his own weaknesses.

A smooth killer vega is more to my preference. kinda like… muhammad ali!

ya, kinda like that! i want to play a character that can dance and poke like that, and be able to totally clown on someone in footsies. but as things are now, there are still characters that not only beat vega in footsies, but are able to apply an insane amount of pressure after they knock him down (ryu, chun for example).

my wish list:

  1. slight increase in walk speed
  2. slightly improved normals/pokes
  3. a reliable anti-air (does not need to be damaging!)

i’d be happy with these changes. not only would vega be considered better, but no would label him overpowered either because he would still be weak on defense like always. and it would keep things interesting too, don’t you think?

in summary: giving everyone a “hurrrr shoryuken!” move to get out of bad situations is just not the right answer! there are other ways to make a character better and keep him fun to play at the same time

soda you main vega and alt hakan… there’s no way i’d ever land U1 on you. you may not see it but i land U1 far more often than not… the only time i dont land it is when i guess. I’ll throw it out there just purely as a random guess.

alex there’s no real set up for it. it’s all about reaction. on fireballers obviously you nail their fireballs. people who like to jump (gief, adon, seth etc) i usually nail their jump from behind. vs vega (except on masked_nobleman… lol ) most vega players stay pretty grounded and dont do many wall dives so nailing a U1 is almost impossible. about the only people i’ll consistantly pick U2 is vs chun, hakan, sakura, cammy, and vega

I see what Tatsu’s saying. Giving him a reliable GTF off me move just doesn’t fit his character design. It balances him, but doesn’t balance the game. If that makes sense.

That Vega has strengths and weaknesses, and that’s what makes the character fun. Playing to his strengths and improvising to cover up for his shortcomings.

have u ever played ST? he´s top cuz he has the fastest walk speed, gdlk normals and a reliable anti-air (and of course the fucking vortex)… capcom wont do that again…
