SSF4 AE: Revenge of the Orbs

The slide that looks worse, could it be a simple side effect of c.mp having a bigger hurtbox? I imagine the spacing you guys are talking about to be so that c.mp barely hits, hoping for a counter hit. Could be that we now experience trades because nerf puts the hurtbox too close now.
One would need to experiment with other moves, like slide to throw, slide to c.lk etc to notice a difference on slide itself.

Acku it was hard to tell c.mp definitely feels different. and mostly after slide i feel stuck. like i cant get anything to come out in time.

im used to doing this in Super slide tip, c.mp (counterhit), spark/drill. its something that im used to pull on consistent basis as Rose is my Alt.

the **frequent **failure of slide followup in AE Rose lead me to think its different. or changed.

is it possible that capcom still applies some changes to the characters when it will come to consoles ? this just cant be definitive changes

Why is it so hard to get a definitive changes list? Every other game I’ve played, Guilty, Arcana, Melty, whatever…there’s always a pretty accurate list of changes compiled from some kind of source, be it a Japanese forum, Arcadia, mooks or something…and those games I mentioned obviously had a much smaller US scene, but we generally always had good information to translate.

I know, it’s so unfair.

At the very least they should have given her a combo into U1, like HP Reflect FADC into U1 or something, then I could live with all the nerfs. But now it seems they just did everything in their power to make sure she’s awful.

I never thought about changing the character, until now…

EDIT: maria she has a combo into u1, but it waste 3 ex bar…you can land it after an ex spark fadc. Even so, she is so awful now…

slide looks the same IMO. If it is changed, it has to be by 1-2 frames or something. Either that or just cr.mp hitbox got affected that much.

Saying the other nerfs aren’t real is optimistic.

Saying they nerfed slide, I really do not feel the slide nerf, like at all.

It might be the effect of a bigger cr. mp hurtbox, but I think slide is the EXACT SAME.

It seems like it may just be some trickle down effect of the hurbox nerf. So while slide might not have changed the stragey has become less effective(for some) overall, at least as of now.

The way i see it the only way to try and keep this from happening is to try get the attention of Cap(@ the Capcom site). Leave a comment, send a message or something. Not much but maybe if enough complaints come through we can get something done before AE becomes the standard.

She’s by no means USELESS.

But Slide cr. strong always got shoryu’d on reaction tho, so I don’t see the problem.

I know, but it takes 3 bars like you said, and the timing is tough, I see no reason why she shouldn’t be able to have a good combo into U1.

i wonder if we can still use the max range hk spiral + c.mp frame trap with this nerf…someone can guess if it would be possible?

or it’s just an hurtbox increase? instead of a lesser hitbox?

s.mk: hurtbox decrease, hitbox decrease - less range, same priority
c.mp: hurtbox increase - same range, less priority

less priority? will this hurt much in our gameplay? Or it’s a generale nerf to all the most used pokes?

There is no such thing as “priority” you either hit or your hurtbox gets hit, one or the other.

Semantics. Priority is just an easier way of saying “the hitbox was larger than the other attack’s hurtbox”, at least in most people’s case. I think everyone understands that now.

c.mp has the same range, it’s just gonna be easier for opponents to counter poke it. Even if the range was nerfed slightly, it’s not gonna hurt Rose that much since we can still use her BnB’s and EX spiral combos.

I just hate the fact that they even decided to actually alter her normals. Rose was fine the way she was, Capcom. U2 nerf is understandable, but the rest is just crossing the line.

I hate to say this, as I usually would categorize such statements as scrubby and unfounded, but it’s almost like they want to keep Rose a subpar character just for the sake of being a subpar character. A lot of people like to gimp themselves, i.e. scrub mentality casual players. I don’t want to ever think this of any character in any game, but sometimes it does look that way.

True, but obviously everyone isn’t aware since it spawned a question. I just figured I’ve read enough negativity here, don’t want anyone misunderstanding because someone essentially repeats the same thing twice in one sentence.
