SSF4 AE: Revenge of the Orbs

The really bad thing imo is that this isn’t like Guilty/Arcana/Marvel where there’s always the possibility new stuff will be found given characters’ options and potential. Rose is basic in a limited engine, so we’re most likely only getting exactly what we see.

And if we do find something remotely interesting, they’ll take it out. Like that reflect trick I made some videos of in original SF4 :lol:

We got trolled hard body, I said they wouldnt make her worse than SF4 and damn if they didnt try to get as close to the line as possible.

Next dev. blog: Slide is now -20 on block regardless of the distance used, throw range is now lowest in game, backdash is slower. You read it here first.

Lol but seriously, I take back the optimism I had earlier in this thread, I find it hard to be positive about these nerfs. I think we just got “Gen’d”.

Ugh. After reading the dev blog, and reading all the responses; I have to definitely ask the question: WHY SO MANY NERFS!?!?! :frowning:

A better(by better I mean it beats low attacks like a boss now) st.MK does not justify cr.MP hurtbox, U2 nerf, loss of super trap, and less meter…

Is the hitbox all that was changed about the MK? Maybe if it was special cancel-able, I’d cry abit less about the changes…

Ive been playing a bit of AE on weekends here and there (I think I have like 200 matches on my card or something), and I havnt really “felt” any difference to her normals. Im sure they did nerf hitboxes on those if they said they did, but I honestly dont think its going to make Rose suck that much worse. Ultra 2 is the biggest deal and im still getting used to how bad it sucks now.

Doesnt really matter cuz once Marvel drops im just gonna play a lot of that (and of course still mainly GG)

I think we can all agree that the comparison pictures are taken at different frames, notice where the scarf is below her hand.

even if its taken at different frames, the hitbox stays the same.

No, hitboxes do change as moves animate.

hitboxes DO often change as moves animate (creep forward or backwards). however with rose’s c.mp the effect is minimal, and the hurtbox is indeed altered in AE (extended aka. worse).

check the hitbox videos yourself if you don’t believe me.

i havent noticed any changes on the hitbox as they animate. its not like both the hitbox on her mk and c.mp shrunk or get bigger depending on which active frame.

if you want to get into the exact frame, go ahead. the point of the comparison is to show how the hitbox has shrunk.

Will the AE version come to consoles as well? Because if so I’m not buying it. All these nerfs our poor Rose got seem mostly unfair.

u can clearly see her leg is a lil shorter and the hitbox is much shorter too
and it seems her scarf was cut down a lil

Sorry for being a bit offtopic but what does she say while performing U2 in Japanese (in AE? :P)

the u2 nerf will have you go wtf to most situations

i won a tourney with rose/sim yesterday, maybe she isnt as horrible as i thought (but never fought any of my bad matchups.)

You’re right, maybe she isn’t. I didn’t think someone would be able to win a tournament with her in AE. Congrats for winning!
