SSF4 AE Cammy Changes and Discussion

Why is everybody discussing “improved combos”? Nothing of this nature has been reported from the japan wiki. Actually, the exact opposite is being reported, as hk arrow no longer will hit twice from as far as it does now. So you liked being able to do st.mp cr.mp hk arrow, or cr.hp cr.mk hk arrow for 4 hits, or even max range cr.mk hk arrow for 3 hits? Most likely not going to work anymore.

Same goes for screwed up links into FADC out of first hit of blocked hk arrow - no longer possible. You will eat your 250-500 dmg punish and like it. :frowning:

Well we are discussing the information given to us many many days ago from the first day of the loketest, this is all we have man, and now you are sharing some new information, please can you tell us how do you know of this?

can you read japanese? do you know people that have? are you getting all from some site other than the japan wiki? come on man let us know what’s going on instead of coming in here and acting like we’re just a bunch of idiots and that your info is common knowledge because its not.

Sorry, I guess I am just angry at Capcom for (seemingly) doing a horrible job with relation to game changes for AE.

The following are the only two changes that are known as of the latest (4th) AE loketest build, taken from the wiki that I linked earlier:

  1. No Cannon Strike from low height. This definitely includes TKCS and may or may not include delayed TKCS / instant jump CS.

  2. HK Spiral Arrow no longer hits twice from as long of a distance. Most likely means that two mediums/heavies into HK SA will no longer work for both hits of the drill.

That’s it. No other specific changes have been noted. Everything else you may have heard, including the “improved comboability” (which was an offhand remark made by a non-Cammy user) has not been verified and is most likely not true. You could blindly put your faith in Capcom to give her something to compensate, but realistically there really is nothing that could make up for both of these two huge nerfs.

I’ve been telling it was bullshit since the beginning (you can read that some pages ago), but no one listens to me and still believes (or wants to believe) Cammy will get buffs to compensate…

I don’t know if it’ll be harder to combo into HK SA, I need to test it myself, it will maybe allow new combos if only the second hit is changed.

they always suck at balancing. the basically killed seth aswell in AE+ssf4, now its cammy turn

So I guess this nerf is confirmed to happen? Just when I switch to stick and TKCS is easier than breathing.

do you know why nobody is considering them? because the same exact sentence was reported about super 4 cammy’s normals… and there was LITERALLY not a single combo’able normal that got a frame adjustment. also not a single reputable source has backed up that claim of “easier to combo normals”. so we are all pretty convinced that it was just someone who normally sucks with her landing a few more combo’s and placebo’ing that shit.

edit: also another question i would ask is has it been official that different versions have been at different AE loktests? cause last i checked the first few loktests were all of the same build, and since there was a super build where rog couldn’t headbutt > ultra there is still a chance that the tkcs changes don’t stick.

Weren’t a few normal hitboxes changed from vanilla to super? If the range of any of the normals changed, that could definitely affect how “easy” it is to do certain combos, even if the frame timing is the same.

May be it means once you get the first hit the second hit comes out faster? I guess that would make it have a shorter distance or better stun on the first hit which could open up better FADC options? another example is if your opponent blocks first hit the second comes out sooner so both hits are blocked?

It include delayed TKCS and instant jump CS. At least during TGS and Osaka Loketest (I was there and I really tried it after I read the bad news). Sorry to let you guys know but it is still possible that Capcom will change it… finger crossed.

I think even the “upper staff” think Cammy’s nerf are dumb :rofl: Although I just think the reason is that it doesn’t bring (if any) enough cash into their pockets…

Do you think they would really make this update as a required DLC update?? That would not be fair to so many people, especially Cammy users. I paid 40 bucks for this game and I like it the way it is, it would be such a dick move to make a mandatory DLC that nerfs characters. I know they’ve done it in the past for unintentional infinites like Elf’s but this is completely different.

Don’t delude yourself guys, this is just ono trolling, the dlc will come out almost 100% sure, and if that nerf on CS is confirmed, ill stop playing this game altogether and move to BB or MvC3
