just lost like 10 matches to t hawk. Mainly cause these guys love to churn butter every time im near them and after whiffed cd.
You can’t do much if the connection is lagging, but do not bait command grabs with neutral jumps since online Hawk players like to flowchart between mashing SPDs and their DP thing lol, do a tight chained string with Akuma’s jabs and shorts then backdash and punish their recovery.

Hey what are you guys doing vs Deejay and Honda block string wise? They have a weird hit boxes while crouch blocking so traditional stuff like c.lp,c.lp kara throw or c.lp.c.lp, c.mp frame trap doesn’t work. The kara throw tends to whiff them completely.
Also vs Deejay, what are you guys using for safe jumps after throw? I know after a sweep a well timed naked dive kick beats his flash kick. Anything else?

Interesting setup Tokido has VS Cammy after a forward throw into the corner:
f throw > whiff c.lk, s.lk, jump mk, etc
Not knowing the Gen matchup is a reason you can get many “free” wins as Gen. I was never that much above average while playing him, and I had so many wins over players that I knew were better than me simply because they had no real experience against him.
That’s the set up that gives you a real cross up or a fake cross up based on which button you push. HK gives you a fake cross up, MK gives you a real one.

I don’t know very much about the blockstring question as I don’t face a lot of honda’s /deejay’s, let alone good ones. But I guess you should try other ones if your current ones aren’t working? I know this sounds trolling as it’s pretty easy advice but sometimes easy advice is good advice.
About pressuring deejay on wakeup: As loyalsol said in another thread, what you need to do is empty jump crouch tech first. This way if they reversal upkicks you punish, until they learn that they shouldn’t reversal upkicks. Then you can start regular vortex pressure, but keep in mind to mix up regularly with empty jump crouch techs, so they get confused about when to reversal and when not.
The double dash after forward throw setup will work on dj since he gets up a frame slower but, you have to be frame perfect. I’m not sure how fast he gets up from a sweep but, I’ve had success with instant command dive kick after a sweep. As mentioned above, empty low crouch tech works wonders as well. Also dj has a balrog like hit box where he pushes you away so, some combos won’t work on dj.

also after blocking burn kicks are they on +1 frame? i seemed to be grabbed out more than not when that happen.

air burn kicks are all safe on block, ground ones are from 0 to -2 depending on strength iirc. So basically unpunishable.
yea i got it that its unpunishable, it is the move after that which they do assume -2 + the start up of thunder knuckle will my c.mk win or not. seems like i am under a 50/50 yomi if i block that. though i usually just teleport away(u2 backup).
also, i need to test out how to dive kick > all her reversal. more often than not i trade with her and cop another dash in thunder knuckle.
the most scary part is that when she does her super jump into frontal hk or crossup burn kick…if i do c.mk and get hit by jump hk its instant death…
jump hk, c.hp, tk cancel, c.hp ex seismo, tk dash cancel into U1…about 70% of my hp i think… perhaps close to stun as well.
anyway. my opponent isn’t bothered to crouch tech at all. she’s got that many arsenal of reversal that occasionally random out and gets her escape.whenever i actually tried any crouching light string into medium she’s probably gonna either reversal ex seismo or burnkicks or occasionally just block. either focus dash out or reversal. hence i shouldn’t be losing as much imo…the result is pretty much 6/4 in her favour atm in my book.
i blame myself having weak vortex took 3/4 guesses sometimes to kill her. and taking too much risk when i am in life lead. still, i prefer to win rushing down not start playing defensive on health advantage. got conditioned too much and perhaps doing something wrong without realising…
all the above is just my ranting, the most important question is…
someone tell us/me how to cmp OS srk already.
The cr mp os DP timing is strict but fairly easy once you understand it. The best way I can describe it is do the DP after the cr mp like a link. If the mp hits you will get nothing. If it whiffs the DP will execute. Think of it as a link rather than a cancel and you will have it after a few minutes in training.
