I wouldn’t say I’m great vs Dudley but I think there’s 2 things you could change:
[S]Not enough backdash or focus backdash - Should use it to get out of his pressure once and a while… I think you froze up a little too much.[/S] After watching again I take this back, not sure why I had this impression as there weren’t many chances really.
More preemptive c.mk or sweep after sonic boom - I realized after a while that instead of trying to react to ducking, it’s not a bad idea to just throw lows after sonic boom regardless of what he does. He can’t really punish it other than guessing a jump which should still be ok if you didn’t do a sweep at that moment. On the other hand it’s a pain for him to deal with because no matter how godlike his reaction is, you still stuff his approach. He can’t really go through sonic boom without ducking and if you stop it then he needs to resort to jump-in elbow which can be a pain to AA but it’s a guess.
Does the cr.MK stop ducking on a consistent basis? Wait a sec I have to try it later when I come home (at the university right now lol).
Sweep? Wouldn’t he just FA absorb the second hit from my sweep for some free damage? I rarely use the sweep tbh.
I throw a SB followed by a sweep, he blocks + dashes forward and FA the second hit on sweep for some extra damage or am I wrong?
Thanks anyway for the pointers.
Will hit the training room later.
I think it’s consistent enough but of course there’s some dependance on time and distance. Definitely more stable to use c.mk but this a situation where using the occasional sweep doesn’t have huge risk. I don’t think sweeping after boom is FA punishable because the sonic boom is out infront and you’re only really whiffing sweep through the area that he would be in if he used ducking to approach. If he’s already within sweep range when you throw the boom that’s another story, this is strictly for when he’s trying to fish for a way in with ducking. Anyway it’s just a small tactic to consider as it has worked for me against a couple Dudley’s
edit: on my way home tonight I passed the arcade and oddly enough my first opponent was Dudley. bodied him lol. c.mk is quite reliable and often causes him to get hit by the boom he just ducked through.
If you get cornered by Dudley, use cr.mk to push him out. Don’t use sweep. (Although, if you have a super stocked up and you know that Dudley is going to focus attack…maybe cancel your sweep into super? eh…?)

Don’t forget about s.mk against Bison. It will trade a lot with his j.hp but it still keeps him out. In general against Chaos you missed a lot of air throw and flashkick opportunities too.
I sometimes try using it against characters that crossup harass like crazy such as Blanka and Adon. Can be pretty good but sometimes it’s really tough to see a good opportunity to use it knowing that you wont accidentally get far standing hk. It’s good against honda buttslam and other very vertical moves as well.
