I dunno what to do against viper =(, I’m looking for advice and suggestions on how to get away from her flamekicks, help would be nice! Thanks! I know in my matches vs. Viper that I got hit by a lot of ex seismos, one day ill find the right timing/reaction to punish those, one day… lol
Ironically enough though, both viper plays who bodied me also gave Ricky a hard time, so i don’t feel toooo bad losing to them xD, but still gotta work on that matchup ><
The only tips I can give you:
- b/f.mk goes over seismo
- c.lp now beats out flame kick in close mix-ups (not sure if it’s 100% yet)
- if you didn’t already know, if she jumps in, it’s a free air-throw 95% of the time (the biggest problem I have is her hk as her throw-box stays small)
Obviously, good players won’t often give you #3, but it still happens.
Good Vipers (and Fuertes) give me heart attacks. Ibuki’s next, I guess.
the culmination of guile’s improvements have made the viper match slightly better. i’ve recently played THE two best vipers on psn europe and i went 2-4 against both of them, which is definitely an improvement on the 2-24 i suffered at the hands of one of them in o.g sf4.
imo you’ve gotta play this match reasonably attacking.
fierce punch (in all forms) really hurts her.
it is possible to corner her. but it’s a bit like playing russian roulette. if she guesses what you’re going to do, chances are you’re going to take as much damage as you were trying to hand out. however, if you do manage to land a corner combo, two of these will virtually kill viper. EDIT: in fact, if you watch warahk’s first match in this video around the 4 min mark, that’s exactly what i mean about russian roulette with a cornered viper: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6900215
i’d say 90% of the good viper’s i’ve played LOVE to mash during your block string. they seem to switch it up between her srk and burning kick. i’m still yet to work out the best punish for baited burning kick when you stop your close crouching block string. maybe someone would care to share what the best punish is. if you aren’t quick, she’s recovered before you can do anything about it (really annoying).

he’s obviously new to the sf4 version of guile, so cut him some slack. the part where he gets tech thrown 2435454 times by shotos is the EXACT same problem i have.

Warahk’s my new favorite Guile player. Love that Sim match man. Fireball wars take patience to win. And when you got the opportunity to get a combo in, you capitalized. Very nice Guile sir.

Currently I think dhalsim is guile’s worst match up. I always thought it was 7-3 and because akuma, sagat, and ryu have gotten better this one feels the toughest to me.
i seriously hate playing against sim. i lost a MM against the sim u played at box, sann sann

yea, i’ve been playing on that one for quite a while now. i use that account to play much more recklessly and not care so much about playing like it’s the final of evo everytime i play (if you understand what i mean). when i log into my other account, i’m always getting first to 10 requests ect and if i say no, i get the “why? you avoiding my beastly ryu?” and so on.
i made sure that i gave nemesys (thanks by the way nemesys) a couple of matches of me playing badly/getting owned because i don’t want to be known as someone that only uploads his wins. i find that too many certain “well known” players of all characters seem to hide their defeats. to prove that i’m not scared to show moments when i scrub it out, i get perfected in one match. then there’s even a match against gief where i directly jump into him twice like a complete idiot…lol.
