Pakman, that Rufus player was doing random stuff, sure you punished him, but dont let him do half screen :hp: tornado crap. Punch his face with your Godlike St.:hp:. I also notice you like Neutral jump :hp: to punish jumping in attempts, but you sadly fought a rufus who like to Jump roundhouse. If you keep standing on solid ground, you would avoid unneccessary risks. You must mind BLEEP him with variety of your anti air normals, so he does not use different air attacks. Once you build that mentality on your opponent, you can have your way with N.J.:hp: or even John Claud Van Guile Back Breaker Air Throw (JCVGBBAT).
You wasted meter on random unsafe and predictable EX sonic booms and were punished for them (but regardless you fought rufus who fails at comboing and like to do random stuff too), you need the EX Bar for Flash kick FADC against rufus preasure game, or EX flash kick against certain Rufus Jump ins.
One thing I recommend is learning the safe distances to sonic boom or when to throw sonic boom, as well as various methods of getting rid of rufus from you, like your back throw or Flash kicm FADC, Sonic boom -> Back fist, and against Jump happy rufuses use JCVGBBAT sparringly.
Yah I defo need more experience vs rufus’. I don’t know all my safe spots against him just yet, but I think I did ok in round 2. I’ll take your advice on the meter usage; I love sonic boom pressure but I get trigger happy and often waste ex bars (half the time they miss completely), so I will work on that.
Ty for the tips mate.
Some casual matches I have played today vs a good mate of mine who has a nice Guile:

@Ring Ding
Good games recently, your Guile has improved a lot since SF4.I even remember that I have played you twice in SF4 in Guile mirrors and now in SSF4 you are giving me a hard time when I play Blanka vs your Guile.
It was heartbreaking indeed was rooting so hard for Lamerboi, but man either way impressive!

Thanks man, I’m glad all those hours of playing has paid off. But it’s difficult to find good competition online (I lose like 6 times out of 30…), plus lag is really getting on my nerves with all the related nonsense. But I’m looking to enter some UK tournaments now, so that will be interesting.

Videos from today, played another guile from the UK and somehow it was a 5 bar connection

These were really fun to watch! A couple of double KO’s, that’s madness.
These matches actually taught me a whole lot. Your use of Ultra was the deciding factor in the matchup, I feel.
The first, and most obvious thing was neutral jumping over the high tiger shots. You ate a couple of these because of that. Why not just crouch?
This Sagat was really cautious on wakeup. It was kind of weird, he seemed afraid to tiger knee. You took advantage of that nicely.
Also, you missed a couple of really obvious throw techs. Need to keep those in check.
This Sagat didn’t seem to know the matchup that well. He didn’t know how to deal with the ultra, and he ate damage everytime you swept for some reason. Sweeping against a Sagat is normally not such a good idea.
Also, I feel you didn’t maxamise your damage potential at all opertunities. For example, on a Lvl 2 crumple, you used the simple Cr. Mp to Flash Kick, instead of one of the bigger damaging combos. Considering Sagat has such a huge hitbox, he is actually pretty easy to hit some of the bigger combos on.
But I’m nitpicking, and was really impressed by the way you played. Good job.
Vs Ken

This ken is not a flowcharter, so lucky I stayed sharp otherwise I would have got killed. He definitely knew what he was doing. But again, I feel Guile has a big advanatge in this matchup
Vs rose

she is definitely harder than before. Trade FK to Ultra 2 was sweet
Akuma

I still hate him. but again every hit you land counts no matter where it comes from.
feel free to comment and criticise
agreed, that sagat wasnt sure of the match up…but did well nonethe less
No your not nitpicking. This are the things i wanna hear to improve myself. ya i was dreaming alot on the tech throws. Thanks for your input. =) See if i have any more entertaining matches i will post here…
hii
hi i saw your match up with sagat and they were good. im a 4000 something guile but i do know some tricks you might already know. you know how to get stuffed on a med. flash kick or hard flack kick on purpose then throw your sonic hurricane as a juggle ? its something… i would say flash to double flash too but he was probably to good to be caught by that…
Vs Ken:
You had some…strange spacing on whiffed throw attempts.
Your anti air game was not on point. Look at the last moments of the first round specifically, you eat a jump in. If Ken had done something more damaging, you would have been in big trouble.
You walked yourself into the corner quite easily. This Ken lacked the ability to keep you in the corner (he appeared to just not care), but this might be a problem against different Kens.
Good job with not putting up with Ken’s bullshit though. I hate this match when Ken is up close, but you shut him down something fierce. Against a Ken who is more competent scoring damage off oppertunites, you might find your struggle.
Rose:
You know this match a lot better than I do, so I can’t help much. Your use of EX was smart here.
Not much to say here other than the Rose got a bit unlucky. She was controlling the rounds, but you always managed to out damage her. Good work, but she was most certainly setting the pace of the rounds.
Akuma:
…an Akuma who uses Ultra 2? I wonder what he uses it for against Guile.
Round 2 is the one where I think you can learn the most from. Specifically, when you chose to attack and defend. Once you gained the momentum in this round…you backed off. Akuma reset the situation and won the round. This was a problem in the whole match, but it only cost you in the second round, I’m interested in your thoughts on why you backed away when you did, considering how hard you worked to get in, and then you just kind of walked away. I’m sure you have a reason, but I’m not sure it is the best plan.
Why did you go for a sweep in the corner? I was expecting a big punish from Akuma, but he just blocked them.
Oh man, Flash kick -> Super was great. I loled.
…also, I have a question for you, I thought Akumas red fireball hit for 3? But I think you stuffed with a regular sonic boom? Or am I missing something obvious?
HP version hits 3 times, MP hits 2 times, and LP hits once. LP comes out faster.
In the Akuma match, I backed off when I got a lifelead and given Akuma’s health He would have started running if I landed more meaty hits. I feel that Akuma is one I can attack more once I get in, I just feel I need to back myself.
In the Ken match, I did make a few errors with input but this was partly due to perceived pressure but no excuses made. In the dying stages of round one, I made a poor decision in trying to air throw Ken instead of flash kicking him, especially where I already stored a flashkick charge.
If i didn’t block that cross up, I would have eaten Ultra 1 after the DP. I played this guy numerous times and I know that he can perform out 9/10 times.
Thanks for your thoughts though, much appreciated
