Match Making Process:
Follow the following protocol when setting up your matches:
Contact your opponent via PSN and this thread and determine who will host and invite.
Host the game and attempt to connect.
If either user cannot connect to each others games, switch host and try again.
If you still cannot connect, both players must restart their PS3 System (not just exit the game) and reattempt to matchmaking.
If both players still cannot play a game, contact me (eltwopee), i will create a game and invite both players. If one person can join and the other cant, the bugged user unfortunately is DQed. If both users can not join than both users are DQed. There will be a 15 minute timer on this process. If both users can connect to my game, play your match and ill record results.
From the designated time periods of the tournament. You must be online and ready to play. If one player is hosting and the other opponent has not responded, contact me and a 10 minute timer will begin.
Post wins and losses in this thread or contact me via PSN.
I will create a PSN channel but it is not mandatory that you join it but it is highly recommended.
The tournament will begin when my cell phone says 8pm
GOOD LUCK ALL!!

Did not realize Akuma was so OP that he should be banned. To that end, I have seen no-one even play Akuma on SSHD online. Any off-line games I had I’we won because he’s so hard to play and quite frankly I dont see anything overpowered in him.
Well I guess it does not matter that hes banned, hardly anyone plays him, Akuma is one of those char’s that need perfect connections to play them, and thats hard to come by in SSHD-online games.
To be honest I dont think too many people play SSHD these days anyway, what with the 4th game and all.
So I just remembered that Wednesday night is opening night for Transformers 2… I saw that the tourney is supposed to start at 10 central… what if I end up being a little late? I really really really wanna see Transformers, and I probably won’t go till the 8 o’clock showing…
Is this supposed to go over three nights? With only 32 players, single elimination and one 3-round match, it should take less than an hour, assuming it goes smoothly.
Not that I have any say, but I think the encounter format selected is too short. I can’t image that a longer format will add overhead to tourney administration – you’re just concerned with the encounter result.
Tournament complexity is more a function of going to double elimination and/or the number of players due to the player management tasks such as seeding, late arrivals, no shows, etc.
Either of these would be preferable encounter formats:
One 5-round match (like Scoreboard), or
Best-of-three 3-round matches (typical for tournaments).
It is over 3 nights for a couple reasons. First, the PSN sucks and it can take sometimes up to 20 minutes to get a game started. Just ask the guys in the last 3 on 3. The second reason is I dont want to hold it for more than 2hrs at a time due to Eastern time players who would be forced to play up to 2am+ on work nights. Depending on the sign up turnout, i may change the scheldule.
However, I should have clarrified, 1. One 5-round match (like Scoreboard), will be the format.
Depending on the turnout, Tourney may start thurs and end fri. I would prefer to not have late shows so if the scheldule remains the same, we may have to replace you =/ Lets followup next week and check the status of the tourney.
If you could herd the other cats that show up on a nightly basis you’d get to 16. Text chat makes it do-able, but it’s still quite a feat of wrangling.
Changing the topic a little bit… Has anyone heard from Blitzfu? His tourney from a couple weeks ago never went on, and I don’t think anyone has heard from him since… Is he OK?
