SSF2T Ryu vs SSF2 Ryu

Which Ryu is worth using more , pros and cons would be nice.
I know New one has super, strong punches in air and ground and can land from throws. Can’t remember if his air hurricane is better but what about old Ryu ?

If its between SSF2T Ryu and SSF2 Ryu, ST Ryu wins hands down. Then again, I prefer Old Ryu (which isn’t SSF2 Ryu, at least, not in ST, dunno Anniversary Edition).

Well in SSF2T , old Ryu is SSF2 Ryu ans someone said that old one has fater F.B and has invin P if this is true what can old Ryu’s DP beat that SSF2T could neber beat, does this list anyone makes includes supers

Ryu’s jumping forward MP can juggle if it lands
Ryu’s standing forward MP breaks crouching guards. Integral in higher level play if you get to use it.

The second point alone is the main reason why I take ST Ryu over all.

Replace SSF2 Ryu with HF Ryu (maybe even CE) and you’ve got a really good qeuestion there…

CE Ryu has no advantages over HF Ryu. I actually prefer SSF2/ST Ryu’s fbs to CE/HF Ryu’s since it’s wider and you have the option of using the instant knockdown Fire Hadouken. DP-wise SSF2/ST Ryu has a somewhat insignificant edge over his CE/HF incarnation in that his Hard Punch DP is a 1 hit knockdown (hard DP in CE/HP would not knock down a standing opponent if Ryu hits while his feet are still on the ground, unless the DP hit twice, which only happens on certain characters). The biggest thing CE/HF Ryu has going for him is the HK’s invincibility on startup and recovery, which I genuinely miss in the SSF2 and ST incarnations.

Are you positive? I don’t know really… but I was guessing that CE might have an advantage in damage, dizzy, and throw range. If so, then is that worth trading the air hurricane for? >shrugs<

Having an invincible DP is nice. The not-knockdown HP DP is annoying… but easily avoided. is SSF2 Ryu’s DP 100% invincible? I don’t think I have ever used him. Anyone?

I would choose ST Ryu over all because he has that forward MP punch that breaks crouching guards, that forward rushing fierce punch that acts like a quick dash, and the most important thing of all, you can link combos to his super fireball, for instance, jump in roundhouse, low forward kick, then super fireball!!!, it takes a grip of energy as well.

I’ve never noticed any differences in Ryu between CE and HF with the obvious exception of the air HK. SSF2 and Old Ryu’s DPs have same invincibility as WW/CE/HF, completely invulnerable from startup until the apex. I think ST Ryu’s DP runs out just before he leaves the ground, so you have to time it REALLY deep to avoid trades, which gets annoying.

I was playing last night… and The only difference between CE and HF Ryu that I could tell (besides air HK) was damage, and MAYBE slightly more dizzy… he usually caused better dizzies too (he got more reapers, HF got more stars, etc). Could’ve just been fluke? i dunno.

They all seem to have the same throw range.

Same FB release too… (although SSF2 and ST have faster release).

So i guess if you pick CE over HF, you’re trading in the air hurricane for more damage overall?

>shrugs< I just like the old guys because you can dizzy with BS like s.HP, jab DP. That’s retarded. I also like CE Ryu because he has the most damaging special in the game (outside of Final punch of course) with his 2 hit DP… not exactly useful, just more of a “holy crap!” kind of funny.
