Wow, I was watching the brackets update and I have to say, I was very surprised by the turn of events. Please make the next tourney on a non-Monday!
Well, so we maybe had an audience so to speak.
No one expecting LOOSECHANGE to go as far as he did…? From recently matches against him, I knew he’d go far. SlipHole79 was also very impressive in the Loser’s bracket.
About next time… Too hard to do something of that scale on a weekly basis. Probably August 10th or 17th, if I stick to a Monday. I choose Monday to allow dbostick to play, and now he’s won twice in a row. Maybe the Monday tournament should be named for him!
What other night is better…? Thursday or Friday?
The double elim did take a while to get through, but I think it produced a lot of good matches. Last night we had 18 show up, so I had to use a 32 player bracket. I’d probably keep a wait list and limit the main bracket to 16 players in the future just to keep the bracket more manageable for a one night event.
The chat room logistics for more than 16 players is also a problem. I like the freedom of IRC, but if I keep the tournament to 16 players, we can all be in one text chat room.
