I’ll agree that Blanka, Honda, and Guile can be annoying. But then again any character can be annoying as fuck in the right hands. I haven’t played a good T Hawk yet, but I remembered the first time I played a great T Hawk on GGPO I wanted to cry.

GGs To ShinBlanka That Blanka is something vicious! I was almost tempted just to get hit by that jumping low just so I wouldn’t be caught in block stun for you to bite on my face. I’m gonna have to find a better way of punishing that move instead of jumping jab, but damn it was a tuff battle for me had to adjust to your tactics quick or get thrashed the whole time. I need to play more people like you because I’m getting to use to playing mediocre players.

Aight guys, whats all this complain about Honda??? Im going to solve this problem once and for all. I really need to understand this Gief Vs Honda match up, I got a good understanding of all the matchups, but Honda, how come a character can beat my main character with just LP and Random Torpedos?? and there is one thing that i really like about Honda, He is the only character that i cant get cornered, as a Zangief player i like to end round in 10-15 seconds once i corner my opponent, but Hot Damn i cant do that to Honda thanks to his JAB Torpedo.

so im going need some other Gief player that knows this match up, and 2 Good Honda player, to solve this thing, so instead of complain, im going to practice against some good Honda players, and if Honda is your Main character, i can play Ryu so you can practice that match up too. so is a win, win situation.

Oh, and GGs to TheGreench, good Gief player, this guy is like a vaccum you cant get close to him. ggs last night. we gotta try that Ryu Vs Zangief again. i might need you as my partner for this event.

and ShinBlanka, if you read this, you can be one of the Hondas player, and posibly the host of this thing ( i dont like to host, i get a lot of Disconnection problems)

Sup man. I know your fustrated, but you have to realize that HONDA is a natural counter for gief. Now geif can win that match, but it’s hard as fuck. ST is about matchup’s imo. That’s just a bad matchup for you. I feel the sameway when I fight against honda, rog, or feilong when I use blanka. You have to OVERCOME THE CHEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE!!:looney::wgrin:

PS- I don’t think honda is scrubby at all. Calling a character scrubby because its a counter against you favorite characters is SCRUBBY imo! Hell he is a natural counter for blanka but I’m not bitching. STEP YOUR GAME fools! Learn a character that counters his fat ass! I like fighting that matchup with blanka, but I like a hard fight sometimes! Everyone needs to stop whinning like lil bitches imo and play the game. If I play blanka and someone counter picks me and picks honda, feilong, or rog the I deal with it! So many wet vagina’s posting now! You guys are better than that! I know you are. That’s just like complainning about someone throwing too much by calling them CHEAP! Calling a character scrubby is the same as calling someone that throws a lot cheap.

Both are scrub ways of thinking! I thought we (srk players) were better than the random scrubs that play on ps3. This is why we are in this thread. To find out and search to play against none scrubs. To play against players that know how to play and don’t have scrub mentallity. Man I had one random scrub tell me I was cheating because I was using a joystick! :lol:

We were on chat match and he was like “what’s that sound or tapping?”. I was like “oh that my joystick”. He was like " man that some bullshit! Use a regular controller!". I couldn’t stop laughing at that fool. I find myself laughing at people in this thread when the whole scrub character issue comes up.

Hell everyone says the same thing about claw in ST and blanka in cvs2. I laugh at that too. People are going to hate on the characters that give them the most problems, but we shouldn’t goto the scrub level people. WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT SRK members!

To be fair Shin, people aren’t calling Honda scrubby because he’s a counter to their character, they are calling him scrubby because he requires less work for the same outcome vs some other characters, but mostly because at the moment, it seems like he has very very few bad matchups.

The thing is, while it’s easy to just say all the “sore losers” are just upset because they are losing to Honda, it’s not the case here, it’s actually very close to the Metaknight issue in Super Smash Bros Brawl. Metaknight is top tier/hated because he has NO BAD MATCHUPS. You can get the best Captain Falcon player in the world, but he will have to work 10 times as hard to beat the best MK player in the world.

And that’s not a matchup issue, that’s a MK issue!

Basically what I’m saying is, it’s only going to get worse, because (as already stated) Honda is looking to be the MK of the game, only maybe one or two bad matchups but that’s it.

The reason for this right now is that he can succeed in almost any situation. He can go on offense with extremely low chance of punishment with his Headbutt for instance. He can turtle and go through projectiles, AND as far as I know can always beat out, or at the worse trade hits when someone jumps in on him with his headbutt. And if you’re not even into that, you can go Gief style with him and tick Ochios like crazy after headbutt knockdowns.

He’s got so many good options, and so many good approches, which is normally great for a character. But since he has the least amount of disadvantages of most characters in SFII, this gives him an unprecedented good matchup list.

Please any and all Honda players reading this, DO NOT TAKE THIS POST IN THE WRONG CONTEXT. I am not saying that Honda players are bad players and only using him to win, or ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I am simply stating some observations on Honda, and why there is so much controversy about him at the moment.

But yeah, don’t take that like an attack on you ShinBlanka I just wanted to point out that the issue about people calling Honda scrubby isn’t about their matchup against Honda with character X, it’s about Honda HAVING such a high and untouched good matchup list. Like I said, he’s got only what? One MAYBE bad matchup? I’m still not convinced that Ryu is even a bad matchup for him, but that’s another topic! Lol.

Also one last thing, about your point, “choose a character to counter his fat ass!” Even ignoring matchups, I think the problem with that “solution” to Honda, is that most if not all players (At least I ASSUME) don’t necessarily want to win due to matchup/due to changing characters…They want to be the best [insert character here] they can be AND want to be able to overcome almost any challenge they can. Isn’t that what being the best with your character means?
