SSF2: tier list

Couldn’t find a tier list with the search so I’m just asking it for ssf2: the new challengers (Arcade, not really snes)

Top is Ryu? Sagat?

this should probably go in ‘other games’ thread

Sagat was tops along with Sim.

This is also something I would like to know. I guess Sagat is a sure choice because Old Sagat is really strong even in ST. As for the rest this is a puzzle to me.

What about SSF2 tourneys? Who used to win the, and with which characters, assuming they existed?

If I recall, SSFII never really took off. It was widely viewed as a step back from HF, so it didn’t get widespread acceptance by the community.

I completely loved SSF2 when I first played it. It had new characters and everything! I would be interested to see how super sagat differs from O. sagat. Anyone got any match vids?

No difference save for O Sagat can cancels the second hit on his light and medium normals. Super Sagat could not.

they had some matches on snes on youtube just search you’ll find. snoresville though it will make you fall asleep.

Super sagat cannot cancel his down lk or his standing up close MP, O sagat can also super sagat cannot cancel his LK or mk blocked or hit at there max range O sagat can

Oh yeah that o sagat can cancel his ducking MP super sagat cannot

I remember playing the heck out of this on xband though, but that was the snes version. Dhalsim all the way. I don’t know the tiers exactly, but he did seem pretty powerful, and that was the only character I really liked to play at the time. I don’t even think arcades near me even had super.

lol xband. I never who anybody who had that. Was that popular at all?

o.sagat can cancel his kicks after 2 hits too, which super sagat can’t iirc

So he had the same recovery on his tigershots? if so, I would imagine he nails the Super cast worse than the ST cast. For some reason I’d never thought about that before but that sucks.

Sim was a hard fight for him tho. Sim even had an unblockable.

As previously stated, this puts them in this order, by total points:

Sagat
Vega
Dhalsim
Ryu, Bison, Guile
Chun-Li, Zangief
E. Honda
Balrog
Cammy
Blanka
Ken
Fei Long
Dee Jay, T. Hawk

I’d have thought Boxer would be higher. Sure he doesn’t have the incredibly useful super or the low dash from ST, but he pretty much has everything else, and his Dash Straight hits ducking opponents.

Jesus, what happened to Sagat in Cali?

He’s ranked #1 in Cali, look at the win %.

and how arc perfect is the snes port?

Ah, my mistake. I didn’t notice that the characters weren’t in order and misread the %'s.

Not very.
