About the BR '05, yeh for real that was a shame, i thought that if we(DaFoot) couldve gone vs your Gunt Punch team, that that shit wouldve been something to remember. So far though, people DID enjoy Staircase vs Great Justice. I don’t know if youve seen that thread or not.
If GD is boring to you though, i think you’d actually be one of the posters that could make it fun again. People follow suit, whenever fun shit is happenin.
For players like Jive or the ones that have been here a really long time, it’s probably in your best interest to let go of the past to an extent. GD used to be a complete and total warzone back in 2001/2002. You posted whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted, as often as you wanted (we didn’t always have 240 second rule for people wondering). While I’m sure we can all agree that the majority of stuff in here was funny, a ton of it was very offensive material. While I think GD could be a little less restrictive nowadays, I definitely feel that the product we have now is better than the past. We all still get our laughs, we just don’t have to delve into Black homo midgets who play with girls dolls to do it.
A warzone? It was like stepping into the middle of Vietnam. I remember my first posts here and I had actually been here since April 2001, but changed my screenname to Will Gotti cause I couldn’t edit it like I wanted to. I think it was a pretty opinionated type thread like religion, life or something and people just jumped all over me. After that, that’s when the Will Gotti that people love/hate emerged till this day. I was cool, but they pushed me too far and I turned on the Jekell and Hyde.
Anyways, the 240 rule and all the restrictions were cause of us in GD. People were slaughtering each other and didn’t look back, it was insane. Flamewars were ridiculously rampant that the ones now are too gay to even take seriously.
I agree that GD should be less restrictive because it isn’t half as bad as 2001/2002.
As a person who has been here since 2000 I must say that I do like the overall product. Its clean, but lets be real for a second. Shit was hella funny. Especially with most of us FN people flooding this place and SRK’s top posters yelling “gtfo!!” and “this ain’t your forum, you’re only here on borrowed time.” Shit like that and other things had me laughing. Especially when there were a ton of “Hey Akumachan!” threads popping up left and right. Those threads would degenerate into something funny and something good. Especially when it was just to let her know she got a PM or to clear her PM box. Good times.
The most I contributed was 10,000 posts of nothing but spam. Although there were the few “wise” posts and whatnot.
But yeah, I’m with Jive to an extent on this. I still find it funny, but its just not as consistent like back then. Also, offensive things are funny. Nothing funnier than being up in the morning and already being called a ‘fag’ with half your eyes opened.

This list brought back hella memories. I forgot how much of a hilarious distraction SRK could be at times. being on the list makes me think: “Damn. How much time have you spent here?”
I remember when I first came as Adam*Warlock, I posted a scrubby-ass MVC2 Guile strat in FGD and basically got reamed for it. After that, I just started unloading on people relentlessly. YOU PEOPLE BROUGHT THIS ON YOURSELVES!

This forum is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. What I mean is Old Testament, people, real wrath-of-God type stuff. I’m talking fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling. Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together…mass hysteria!
The thread needs to be renamed “General Discussion’s 30 Most Infamous/Famous Posters.” No offense to anyone in here, but GD is a small, isolated part of what SRK is really all about. To say that some of those people on the list, who really have nothing to do with Street Fighter at all, are the most famous/infamous posters on SRK, is pretty incorrect.
There have been so many people who have posted on SRK about what the site is REALLY about, the fighting game scene, that did not make this list. S-kill’s crazy Domination 101 columns that spawned such ridiculous backlash…either of the Cannons, who should be a no-brainer to be up there since they run the site and basically every time they post, it’s some kind of crucial information about the SF community…How about some of the crazy stuff Brandon “Demon Hyo” has done with alternate nicknames, or the drama that Blaziniflo has started in the Marvel community…Viscant is definitely deserving of a spot because of the wacky stuff he does in and out of SF…and most recently, the shit that James “Jamie” Austin pulled that was so disrespectful (and got so much negative attention) that he got banned for a year. And not to stroke my own cock, but I think I should be on top 15 “most infamous” and if you ask why, you obviously don’t read SRK.
It’s cool to do lists like this, but I don’t like the insenuation that SRK = General Discussion, because it doesn’t. SRK is a HUGE community of Street Fighter gamers, with a General Discussion message board. This thread really needs to be renamed.
