I kept checking for matches in the West, but nothing ever got updated. I’m still down to participate.
I mean…how long can it take to pool together the two regions? We have a list of every active player within each one, correct?
@“The Martian” You’re correct we do, and no it shouldn’t take long to merge divisions at all; unfortunately the list that’s on the front page is no longer accurate and I only have access to the most up to date roster for East 1. I lost A LOT of players from my region alone and while I could just matchup what I have with what I THINK Green has in East 2, there could very likely be a case where half of the players end up not even getting a match in at all because their opponent left a long time ago and I simply didn’t know it.
I generated these matchups for East 1 with who I’m most certain I have left in efforts to keep the porch light on and have something for us to do until I get an update from either Plaid or Greenwood. If @chadouken! and yourself would like to just jump into East 1 to get some matches in for the time being then I can most definitely set you two up. I reached out to them just yesterday to get an update and hope they can spare some time to get back to me soon; until then I’m gonna try my best to keep the ship afloat.
I appreciate ya’lls patience in the matter considering this was supposed to be the “New and improved” league and we’ve been failing at that so far.
Not entirely your fault; we’ve been having league members dropping like flies. Harder to keep things running smoothly when you have that happening (or players that signed up to participate yet don’t show up anyway).
On the plus side though, once the more active playerbase is established, we should have smooth sailing. For real this time. 
Feel free to move me into the East league. If it makes things easier and it means we’d be getting matches, that’s cool with me. :tup:

What time works for you? I’m free tomorrow night after 9 MST, and then Saturday morning, evening, and any time Sunday before GOT.
Oh, and @driftlogic I’m also cool with jumping into East 1. I grew up in Virginia so that should count anyway, even though I live out West now.
@JasonC Execution wasn’t poor at all. There were WAY too many people who either: can’t read OR said they wanted to play and then didn’t. The mods lead all of the horses to the water…we can’t make them drink. If every player was like you, it would’ve worked, but there were too many slackers. I posted the matches, I reminded people, nobody played. What do you what?
We’re still using the Discord app for our match results, right? The East 1 matchups section wasn’t updated on there.
Either way, Trouble Brewing won our match, 3-1. (So some improvement though not very much)

Yeah, you can if you like. From what I’ve read a lot of people don’t like using discord so I’m gonna try this without making it a huge requirement. If you could just tag me here with your match results that should work fine I think…
I think having people use discord just makes things overly complicated. It’s the SRK league, not the SRK > discord > SRK league. Every extra click someone has to do makes them less likely to do it.
I agree that East 2 was pretty inactive. But to say that the execution wasn’t poor at all is like what? Take some responsibility, man. Sounds like mods aren’t coordinating much, either.
Inactive player base is definitely the root of the problem, but have any of you guys moving towards a solution? I see talk of consolidating groups, but where is the action?
The south apparently got combined with another group? And then there were no matches for it after the combination?
I saw zero communication that there was any problem with the whole process; in fact I saw other divisions continuing which left me searching for updates for my own group. I still haven’t seen anything other than that there are problems. Due to the lack of information I thought this had fallen apart completely.
I am not trying to blame anyone nor am I upset. Just sharing my experience. Organizing shit is hard; especially across time zones and many people.
Unfortunately there really isn’t a whole lot more that we can do to deal with the inactivity; we’ve already got a points system that the tournament is centered around (gotta earn enough points to get into the tourney, if you want a chance in tournament you have to play) and a “boot” system (don’t play for two weeks in row and you’re dropped from the current “season”). And I know at least Green (I admittedly didn’t do this until after I saw him do it) would tag the players in his matchup posts yet players still flaked entirely, failed to meet match deadlines or otherwise had to drop out due to time constraints, technical issues etc. (which is no ones fault, mind you).
This was part of the reason why I decided to attempt to “soft” merger things in light of the recent void in activity. There were a lot of “refugees” from other divisions that seemed like they still wanted to play so I rag tagged some shit together to keep it movin’ without trying to pin anyone to a time limit where setting up/playing your match was a concern. @MentalMantel and @jasonC I’ll ask you guys the same I did Chadouken! and The Martian; if you are still wanting to play please let me know, I’ve got no problems throwing you guys into the mix and generating some matchups for you and whoever else I have left.
I don’t think there’s anyone to blame on the whole here; players and mods alike are trying to make this work. I just want people to play, have fun and learn; I don’t want any bad blood.

Welp, I just got a thorough thrashing by @“The Martian”. I’m not sure what week it counts towards, but he earned all the points for the matches. Good games, man!
I could do one match in the South group against Kylebr, but I couldn’t find any updates after that, so I also thought that was it.
If it’s still active, I’m still more than willing to participate.

The current active player count is a bit uneven at the moment, so I’m sitting this one out for the time being until I can get another player to join up; unless @Greenwood is feeling better and wants to jump into the fray.
@chadouken! thank you, I’ve recorded the results of you and The Martians match. As far as what week to apply the match to I’m gonna forgo that for now; with the way things shake out as far as differing schedules it’s turned out to be pretty hard to tie matches to a specific week while keeping everyone’s points in line.
I’m gonna try a series of runs with this being the first, after we’ve completed three runs we can do a divisional tournament; it’ll still be top 4 (or six depending on point spread) so points will still mean something to us and of course two consecutive “no runs” will see the player removed from tournament proceedings.
This is just another something I’m tryin to make things easier for everyone and keep it movin’ and it likely won’t help with players that plain don’t play, but there seems to be a solid player base forming so hopefully it won’t be a major issue.
