ohhh boyyy another balrog mirror lol. well basically you had really solid fundamentals with tick throws and footsies. you didnt AA to much. so work on that. low fierce is god in this game as an AA. you should work on your execution you would often mess up combos. sick tick throws thats a big part of balrogs game. and once you get them teching you can do cr.lp cr.lp take a small step back cr.mp jab dash straight. against my rufus you just jabbed alot. that doesnt help. jump back fierce rapes rufus dive kick shenannigins. well with that said ggs!
Is there anyone here that plays a good zone sagat? I played one in a tournament today and I got DESTROYED. Basically, each round started like this:
Round starts, Sagat runs away. My tiger gymnastics does an okay job ducking, jumping and focusing.
When I jumped forward, I would either eat a standing R.H or forward R.H.
rinse and repeat
I play as Cammy, and a zone Sagat is a hell of a lot harder for me than an E. Honda or Boxer. I used my EX Spiral Arrow a few times, but my combos weren’t really working that night. I’m just so frustrated on how I can’t jump in or effectively close in without meter!

Really nice Ryu. Pulled off hard hitting combo’s at will and hit me with SRK>FADC>ULTRA at every available opportunity. Theres not much advice I could give you but I did cross you up a couple of times so maybe work on your blocking/counter/reversal for that.
The last two Ryu’s I have played with (Manic and Kkor) have been at a high level and have given me more motivation of getting better and working harder. Thanks guys…I hope to give you both a better fight next time.
Christ man, beating you seemed nearly impossible. Your AA is very solid as is your execution. That fireball pressure and punishing jump-ins with supers was very nice. There are only 2 things I can think of that you may want to work on. 1: when I was able to pressure you, and particularly when you were in the corner, you would randomly throw out an EX dp. I wasn’t able to punish all of them, but a couple did cost you matches. 2: I was able to see that you frequently threw out a tatsu after your block string. You may have just been anticipating my fireball, but I couldn’t tell for sure. I’ll be working on my game til next time. That was definitely a lot of fun.
I think we can go with the same day Tourney idea, just as long as we have more of them, (like one every other week) and maybe we can do the brackets the day of, because sometimes if we plan ahead and have ppl sign-up and then hold the tourney the same day, if that person doesn’t show up, it just makes it tougher.
Erm, I can’t really say much, laggy matches and we only had like three of them.
I would have to say that the ground game was very strong, he outplayed me everytime and keepaway game got me too.
Fireball execution was great, considering the lag, Alot of mine came out as Cr.Hp’s and such.
And you gotta work on the cross over tatsu into cr.hk. You missed it evertime, not sure because of the lag or what. And I read your cross ups easily too.

You gave me a big problem throughout the games we played. First, you got a crazy mixup game in which i found that my tech throwing defense sucs. Pokes were on point and you’re fadc to ultra was perfect. Other than that you beasted me the whole time I wish i gave you a better matchup. GG man.
oh and sorry for leaving quick I tried telling you last game on irc it was the last game. My gf was yelling in my ear the whole time we were playing ugh… lol
Yea, I was thinking same day brackets too. Only takes me a like a minute to make it which this program I have.
Trimming down the roster
Also, I think it’s about time to start trimming down the roster and weeding out the guys who haven’t contributed to this thread.
Starting next week, I’m only going to update the points once a week. Those who did not receive points (means you didn’t post anything back on this thread) will get red * next to their name. You’ll get one for each week with no activity. It will reset if you become active. If you get a 3rd one (which is 3 weeks without activity), you will be removed from the list. If you are going on vacation, got the ring of death, or whatever reason, just let me know and I’ll just make a note of that to keep you on the list. I already know of 2 people that have ring of deaths.
I notice some people are playing but haven’t left any feedback at all. That kind of defeats the purpose of this thread. Feedback is important. Please leave something for your opponent.
GG’s man, they were fun but i noticed with your Akuma you use SRk’s in between block string’s alot. Its an ok thing but i punished you sometimes for it. I liked how you fought and I realy can’t remember what else i thought you could improve on, i just suggest using Less SRK’s, you knew your BnB links and you used them alot which was good, You Inspired me to try out Akuma as my secondary so lets see how it goes! Gg’s to you too. I loved the Guile and you did great with him. You know how to wait for you oppnent and when i was using Akuma you hit me with the C.HP Its a Great AA and you know about it I loved it. I noticed a couple of things that were bad. It seems like your Wake up games needs some practice because i could just pound on you the moment your down. It’ll just take time with that, you just gotta read your oppnent and tell what they will do, or you could do the wake up Flash kick, which it works but DON’T use it all the time or at least don’t get too predictable with it. I noticed you started to jump in alot and got easy to read because you would do like 2 sonic booms and then a jump in which got you punished, if i was a pro Akuma i could’ve ultra’ed you alot of those times. Try Getting to people via hiding behind your projectile and dashing. Something else i know im still working on and something you might want to try is FA. They are good im still unfamiliar with them but you can punish people pretty bad with them. Just somethings to consider, and one final thing is you seemed to get hit by my Tatsu’s through your Projectiles. There really hard to predict and the best thing i can say is try to not use to many close rang Sonic boom’s unless its in a block string. THough, good games man loved your Guile!

Pretty good akuma, you did make a few mistakes here and there but i never capitalized on them. once you got me into a corner (or i put myself in a corner) it was lights out on your side. i couldn’t get you and i felt like i was playing rock paper scissor and i lost everytime. also i never wakeup flashkick because i always get punished

btw i wasn’t at the top of my game today. i have been feeling sick so i was missing my links and wasn’t reacting in time, also i had a few tricks that i wanted to try but was to afraid to use them when i was missing my basic links.
still with all that said i still dont think i could have won much even if i was at the top of my game
You were getting me good with the reaction tatsus to go over my hados but once I caught on, you should’ve realized i was baiting them and stopped. I tried to punish those with demon twice, but missed both times. Not sure if it’s input lag or me choking, but it’s doable offline. You missed a couple of srk, fadc, ultras, but were mostly money with them. Note to self: do not block string ryu with meter. 2x.clp, c.mp -> Boom srk fadc ultra. far hk, c.mk -> Boom srk fadc ultra. Actually don’t try one frame links either, coz I ate an ultra off one of those as well. I think I need to work my AA a little better with deep srks, and work on my demon flip mixups.
As for the srks, those were meant to be hados or teleports (either holding the stick in the wrong corner, or not hitting all 3 punches)
vs Akuma
You threw a ton of unsafe air fireballs that I could’ve and should’ve demoned, so be careful with those. Great use of demon flip to punish my dumb fireballs (note to self: you’re not ryu!). Work on those links, coz akuma needs all the damage he can get at every opportunity.
vs Maple Maniac’s buddy (Akuma vs Akuma)
Your buddy picked up really fast, which was impressive. One thing though, all those ex demons into throw could’ve been ex demons into Bnb, which is tons more damage. I need to AA those better (for the poorly timed ones). Also he was attempting 3.clp, c.mk - not the most forgiving link (1 frame) on a 2-3 bar connection. He also started teleporting away from mixups which is awesome. I’m not sure if I Can give him advice coz I think if he gets his links off c.lp and his BnBs down, he’ll be way ahead of me.
Great zoning and execution. Out of the 24 matches, I think you only missed 2 chances for ultras. Sorry I don’t have much to add. There were a couple of times when you FAd and I could have used an ultra if I’d been quicker (I think I got one of them). Also, better players are probably able to more successfully L2 FA fireballs up close than I was (I think it worked once). Seemed like every time I left an opening, you would bust out a devastating combo dealing at least 40% damage. I’ll have to try playing you again when I’ve improved.
