Vs. The Brown One
Nice Blanka. Pretty good mix ups. Blanka is actually my main, but I am trying to switch to Bison because I really hate the mirror matches with Blankas and I found him to have poor match ups with Dhalsim and Balrog.
Your Ryu is excellent too, but if I remember correctly, it seems you had some trouble with cross ups.
One thing about your Chun-Li, your reversal EX spinning kicks may be too predictable.
I still don’t understand why most of you won’t get onto IRC. We have a webchat where you don’t even have to download the program. You simply go to a website, put in a user name, and channel name. Your friends list won’t get packed, you can ask any of the players on for matches, tips, or strategies and it’s just more convenient in general. So stop posting for matches to see if people are on right at this moment. I’m sure more people are around the IRC channel to play and you can get an answer asap.

What I Need to Practice: Improving FA, and FADC, Anti-Cross-up and counterattack throws
Sweettalksam vs maplemaniac (not sure of his SRK name)
Ryu:
Your Ryu was Fine. I liked him but theres not much I can say to you, i explained alot of it to you Via XBL and I gave you some tips about Ryu. I’d type them out here but it isn’t anything special since i already told you. Though follow what I said. Use the C.HP as a AA, Use the C.MK into Hado and get used to it, Use The HP SRK as a good AA don’t use it too much else you’ll get punished. Go into practice and practice those FADC into Ultra’s, im still practicing on the left side, and sometimes i mess it up even on the right side. Just takes time but the more you practice with those links and combo’s the better you will get at them.
RoughChimera vs Maple Maniac (Not sure of his SRK name)
Ryu: Im sorry but your Ryu wasn’t that good, I know your just starting with him but still…
Pro’s: You did alot of AA SRk’s they hit me but… you got punished alot… there ok.
not to sure what else to say about this
Con’s: You did WAY to many SRK’s man. I know they hit me cause i was like “Oh it shouldn’t hit…” still hits me So it was great i couldn’t cross you up on wake up. I think you need to work on less SRK’s cause you did ALOT of random one’s and they got you killed, i wasn’t even punishing you all the way, i was just sweeping where i could have SRk’ed Into ultra’s which would have done alot more damage to you. I believe you should start off with less SRk’s then learn how to zone with hado’s Then go to learning some major combo’s but you gotta learn how to crawl before you can walk, so get rid of those random SRK’s. Also Try to use the C.HP over the AA SRK’s its much easier.
Guile:
As for your guile it seems like you are good and all, but when your being rushed down you lock up. I seen it because you were just eating my attacks and jump in’s, remember you have a C.HP as An AA with Guile too. Other then that i liked your Guile.
hope my advice helps, looking for more people to play

Characters Bad VS: dictator, honda

Is it going to be beneficial to me to learn a second character alongside my main (Balrog). I’ve talked to some people about this but I’d like to hear some more opinions. I’m getting two views on the subject. One says I need to concentrate on Rog, playing another character would just take precious training time away from Boxer. The other says, I need to gain play another to gain more perspective on the game.
The former makes most sense to me, as I am of the opinion that a specializing is a better idea than dabbling. The latter only makes sense to me because I’m getting stuck in this newbish charge character mentality (must… hold… crouch block!), that I might be able to break by learning a non-charge character.
Considering I have played you, I think it’s in your best interest to stick with Balrog for now. You still have TONS to improve and switching to another character will only hinder your development. Although it may be beneficial to learn another, it definitely is not a must. One thing you might want to ask yourself is, “Is Balrog the type of character I can see myself going far with if I practice him religiously.” If no then switch to another character.
good games. There was a problem though. The lag was horrible, please, please don’t think im a sore loser or anything. In all seriousness though I honestly think i could have tied it up, or make things a lot closer than before. But enoguh complaining, now to some constructive critisicm. I noticed that you jump in a little too much, but i think that was because my anti air was not good at all. Against a better person, with good anti air, i suggest not jumping in as much. Another thing is when i jump in and you short jab shoryuken me, i get caught in the air and you land before me. That gives you time to ex fireball or even ultra. If you remember those few times that i cought you i did that. Let me know if u still dont get what im talking about. I have a this problem too but if you see that i keep blocking throw in a block instead of just trying to cross up again. That is all that i remember for now, if we play again hopefully there is no lag good games.
Thanks bud, appreciate the comments and also do agree, it would have been very close if the lag was not a factor.
I will attempt to work on not jumping in, and also spacing on the hado pokes to either be safe from j.HK/HP or be in range for DP AA.
I want to know how to jab DP into juggle with EX Hado? I can do it easily with the Shinkuu but the EX Hado is much harder, what is the timing? Do I buffer the move, or wait until I hit the ground. You used that very effectively all session, and I would like to learn it as well.
Also, great use of BnB jump in combos, also a part of my game that I am lacking that you excel in.
Have to say this, this training team is a great idea! I have only played Maple Maniac and DaMoney21 but both sparring sessions has made me feel that I have identified weaknesses in my game, and also strengths.
Definitely, this will lead to stronger development of my Ryu.
oh that was another thing, sometimes wen you would hado, its not a safe distance, i could just jump in and bnb, but that was only sometimes. The time for the ex hado juggle and the ultra is this. As soon as you land start them up. the timing is not tight at all, but make sure its a jab dp.
I believe we played around 16 matches for SNK training.
I picked E. Honda, Bison, Seth and Blanka against Ryu, Seth, and Blanka
Maplemanic is definitely better with Ryu than other characters. He has a great solid ground control and excellent mix plays including tick throws and good BnB combo with Ryu only. Also he has great anti-air move, jumping cross-over moves.
His weakness: He misses some opportunities for simple BnB combo Non-Ryu characters, set-up ultra, and faced against Bison which he has hard time to beat.
