Interesting. Guess we’ll find out for sure when the game drops. Sounds like worst case scenario, and this is ‘worst case’, we find 2v2 isn’t workable. That would still leave a viable 1 on 1 league.
Po did make a good point, about the value of this information being fairly biased as everyone is communicating with Japan first, so netcode gonna be shit no matter what. Should wait to make the call 'til it hits stateside. If anything, what has been positive only will get better, so I’m not concerned.

By the way Gilg, should you get a mod to move this to General Discussion? Only because it’s really weird to me that this and the Smash thread aren’t in the same forum. I only saw this thread because it was on the “What’s New” thing on the top of SRK, otherwise I would have never seen it since I don’t go here.

I dunno what it was, but I couldn’t find the Smash subforum from the main list. And this is a fighting game, so this seemed appropriate.
That, and I openly encouraged you to post it in the fighting game area. Smash has been at multiple Evos, we’ve regularly run news about the series on our front page, and it most clearly is a fighting game that simply uses some non-conventional mechanics. Anyone seriously wanting to do the “hurr hurr as if samsh si a reel fightan gaem lolololol dur me so witty” line at this point can take up with me, and I’ll call them a damn idiot who needs to quit wasting everyone’s time.
Fortunately, nobody has dropped by to do so yet. I am pleasantly surprised; perhaps the community in general is growing out of that nonsense.

I agree. I couldn’t even find the Brawl section until someone told me it exists. That says a LOT. Let’s leave it here.
