E3 generates a lot of income for the ESA who are extremely pro-sopa and have been giving fairly large sums of money for lobbyists (nothing compared to the RIAA or MPAA of course, but several hundred thousand dollars is still a lot of money.)

Join other developers, news sites, and gamers by not covering or attending E3 this year.

I’m sure Mr. Wizard isn’t pro-SOPA but at the same time he knows that covering E3 will get the site more traffic so he’ll still do it.
