SRK Photographers Thread Vol. 1

You get any more? That one is pretty nice

Thanks and no, I’ll I have are just some crappy ones that are pretty much the same thing. Hopefully I’ll be going again this coming Saturday and I’ll get some better shots.

I’m still pretty new to Denjin and I didn’t want to be getting up in everyone’s face with a camera, lol.

I think people like getting their pictures takin more than anything. I’ve never seen anyone get bothered by it. I’ll see you saturday!

More Denjin…

This week’s assignment was ā€œCaught in the Actā€

The Setup:

looks like the knife is a benchmade griptillian.

nice choice of knife!

If only it was. This was something we found for $10 at a liquor store

well, it looks good.

xDDD

Good shots, I feel like they should be up for a documentary of ā€œArcades: Dead or Revived?ā€

It being posted on SRK gives guys from other parts of the country know who else is representing the FGs. It makes me want to see names of the players added to the shot. Good work.

Solid lighting. It truly makes the photograph.

Thanks. Honestly I don’t know most of the people in my photos, but once I start figuring it out I’ll add them when I can.

Even more Denjin…

More here.

So I’m only shooting with primes nowadays and I love it. By using both my 5D and my 40D I get plenty of variety from a 24, a 35, and a 135.

EDIT: Forgot to remove noise when I exported from Lightroom…

aww no pics of me

Very cute daughter! She has those long eyelashes that every girl should have.

Thanks DuckHole! Luckily for her she got her mothers looks lol

No, no Denjin this time, lol…

Me and some friends ended up going on a random short roadtrip after an assignment for the paper fell through. We went from the middle of nowhere to the snow and finally ended up at Six Flags. Interesting day…

Tried out some long exposure/night photography stuff, some of it came out okay. I should have used the timer though cause some of it had some shake.

My backyard

I like this last one cause I didn’t really do anything in post.

All of these pics were done with a very dark cloudy sky, so I liked how bright the longer exposures made them look.

I’m not too well versed in post processing, but I want to bring out my colors and contrast a little more… been using DPP since it came with the camera, are there any other free ones I should be using? GIMP? I’d try Lightroom, but its expensive… don’t want to pirate, either.

And how depressing is this… I just found out that there are a ton of burnt out pixels in my sensor. They’re only apparent in long exposures though. I found a lot while I was taking these pics… cleaned up these pics a bit though so they wouldn’t show. I took a long exposure pic with my lens cap on and I found probably 30 that are different colors. Should I just not worry about them since they only show up for long exposures (which I don’t do too often anyway)?

nice neighborhood. pretty interesting lighting. i remember the first few times i took pictures in the dark, and i was amazed how things could turn out with a longer shutter speed. i usually dont do long exposure anymore. its just so time consuming, and a lot of trial and error for me. were you trying to go for a certain effect?

i would shop out the tiny tree brances on the top right. its kind of a visual sticking point. and the minor lens flare just above center is kinda nasty. i hate those things.
