SRK Mini Mafia: Proving Grounds - Team Fortress 2 GAME BLUE - BLU Victory!

So I guess we have everybody now then. No more lynch inactives available. Its unsettling how quiet it is. Nobody wants to make the first move

I have an idea that will get the ball rolling: At least for the first lynch or two let’s not vote people who are usually provocative in one way or another. That is those of us in this game who have riled up others for better or worse in previous games should stay alive for now just so they can cause some discussion that leads to weeding out who’s mafia and who’s not.

Not the most scientifically sound idea sure, but it does make sense, especially now when we have literally nothing to go on, we have to start somewhere. And I’m sure someone will shoot down my idea while not coming up with anything to replace it

The list I propose of those not to lynch for now:
Me…yeah I want to stay alive fuck you, but I do always make for an entertaining game either way :stuck_out_tongue:
Cyntalan
Exodus
AlphaCommando

Im sure at least one of you will suspect me as mafia and protecting my 2 mafia brothers in that arbitrary list I just made, sure that’s a valid claim but also everyone keep in mind IF no one in my list is mafia than a mafia member can start or jump on a bandwagon to lynch exactly everyone on this list first and then you guys are down 4 people.

Either way I’ve lit the fuse, because none of you had the balls too, if I die early well I dmitmi’ll be pissed again like I usually am whenever I scream how I’m a civ and then get lynched and then everyone else is like “oh shit he was a civ…my bad!” :bluu:

Wow, well that’s one way to start things. But I have to admit it was pretty dry in here.

No balls? I have no fear. I’m going after the hat avatar guys. It’s clearly a distraction. That or Forge’s game has taught me nothing about targeting avatar themes.

I guess that means you only want Pertho on the block then?

Exodus. had that hat avatar for much longer than game signups. “Twerkin!”

I don’t know why I left AlphaCommando out of that group.

We, the SRK players, don’t know that though. The avatar thing was/is stupid (a joke I made in the signup thread, kinda expected it to stay there) but it certainly wasn’t distracting from any conversation, obviously: we haven’t even broken the page marker yet. :bluu:

I like OZ’s plan because it will make for an interesting mid-to-end game  anyways (…and I’m on his list ^^;…)

I took that as he meant the people who keep talking about it, or are putting any stock into that. Although I liked watching PW do his SP thing after I figured out what he was doing

It would have worked! Nearly All Mafia were South Park character-avatar-less.

Pertho, first time player. It would have to be only that: he lucked out and was Saxton rather than being picked as a RED. Zoolander flamed out the last two times, so he would be a really dangerous pick for the REDs, unless that’s the yomi going on here. He did stick with saying 2 were chosen or that someone was just going to think he was Guilty and threw the “real 2 REDs” under the bus.

Someone else pick this part of the game up, who do you think was the Saxton choice and who you think would be a good choice, so I don’t feel so guilty and on the spotlight for being the first. RED’s game over there is already 3 pages in or something by doing all of this.

I assume you didn’t see the game I was mafia if you think I’m a bad pic…but you’re right judging by my performance the last game it would be irresponsible of PW to make me for me mafia this game, that’s almost handing civs the game

I think trying to figure out who Saxton is this early will over complicate us and the mafia will in turn manipulate the mass confusion to their advantage. As someone that’s read/been in all SRK mafia games one pattern I see across them is that mafia always try to capitalize on the mistakes the civs make themselves, don’t let it be that easy for them this time.

For the moment lets assume for the moment no one on the list I posted above is mafia, that narrows it down to 2/7 people as mafia suspects. I say lynch any 3 of those 7 targets, which gives us nearly a 50% shot at hitting at least one mafia. If a mafia member isn’t among those first 3 lynches then whoever is left can feel free to distrust me and lynch everyone on my list.

We have no information to go on so we don’t want to over complicate things but we also don’t want to keep it too simple, otherwise anyone either mafia or dumbass civ can throw out an accusation wildly and th bad wagon ensures we lose.

@Cyntalan you can’t be quiet the whole game because it looks like everyone is being quiet!

I don’t know if is because we have until monday morning, but all of us have been very quiet until now, and yes i know that i am stating the obvious :looney:
I think that having a discussion would help us more than being quiet since that helps the mafia more than the civs on the long run.

Saying that, i don’t know if the plan of Orochizoolander will be in our best interest, i mean there is some validity on what he say, that we shouldn’t allow that our previous experience with the players lead our judgement, we could end losing assets just because we end voting without thinking, but at the same time if we decide to not go against them just because we are afraid of being wrong, if they happen to end being mafia they can end winning.

As much as I like the idea of following a plan to automatically get into the final four (I know this wasn’t your intention, but anyway.), I have to disagree. We can’t really just go ‘these people are now trustworthy because I said so’. But thanks for getting everyone talking. We need someone to slip up, and we can’t get someone slipping up if nobody’s posting. Unless someone posts something more incriminating, I’ve already got my first probable lynch target. No, it’s not you, OZ.

We do have a little bit of information to go on and that is that one mafia member wasn’t selected randomly, they were chosen. I think AKUMA has the right idea in that we should be looking for the recruited spy based on what we know about the players in the game. My top three candidates would have been Cynt, OZ and HAX. All three I think are good overall players with Cynt and OZ being the players with actual mafia side experience.

Sure, I’ll play along. My pick would’ve been Combo_Knight. No hesitations.

I agree with the majority here, we need a bit more ground to go about judging who and who isn’t trustworthy.

The civs have spoken: Lynch pistol shrimp

Yeah, I really don’t think OZ’s idea is that great either. We can’t just let four be safe just because they’re good players. If one of them were mafia, we’d be screwed.

I’d probably pick Alpha just to make him mad (on a minor note he’s a pretty good player too). That and I really don’t know anyone else very well.

I’m not good, but I survive til at least midgame and just end every game yelling at the people who haven’t been questioned yet. I think that’s all he was getting at.

Reasoning?

His last gasp in the Phoenix Wright game proved that he has a high level of literary ability, which could be used to talk his way out of being suspected while throwing suspicion onto other players. That coupled with the fact that he’s relatively unknown would put him at an advantage being Mafia. So yeah, would’ve been an easy pick for me.

Anyways, I’m about to head to bed and with just under a day left, I figure we should get the ball rolling.

Lynch: Augustus

So far, he’s the closest we’ve got to someone using bad logic. Regardless of whether he was joking or not, lynching people because ‘their avatar has a hat’ won’t work. As I played the RE game, I know what he’s referring to, but it doesn’t work in this context. In the RE game, there were a few people with MLP avatars that wouldn’t shut the fuck up about MLP, so we lynched them. In this case, hats are relevant to the theme and give an indication as to whom is familiar with the TF2 Mann-Conomy.

Summary:
People wearing hats is not a distraction. The fact that Augustus tried to make it out as a distraction is a distraction.
