@Augustus, that Day 2 play was fucking incredible. GG’s on getting those vote results. @Aidebit, I wish you weren’t UC so I could award you MVP Mafia for saving IWinAlot.
Oh, you used Pimp Willy’s strategy.
We all know how Mr. Wizard chose the Vanilla upgrade.
Okay, now for the important shit I’ve been wanting to say for a week.
Caught
Cornered
Overtaken
Lying Coldly
Keep Pressing On
Questioned
Wanting To Find The Truth (haven’t played Investigations 2)
Casting Magic (if nothing else because I haven’t played the Layton series)
This list is also taking context of the games into account. I really dislike Questioned as a Pursuit theme but it fits the game exceptionally well, for example.
Also, Jury Duty Was real. Murder case, guy was charged with aiding and abetting a murder, but also with use of a firearm because the criminalist testified 2 different guns were used. It was a gang killing.
Really interesting to see it play out, the shitty public defender vs the rising star district attorney who only prosecutes gang members. Made me learn quite a bit about the legal system.
found him not guilty, because they couldnt place him there. The guy who was killed was with his friend and girlfriend and her sister; the girlfriend recognized the shooter, found his pictures on facebook (she was his facebook friend) and turned him into the police. The shooter later confessed (2 months later) and gave up the name of the guy who got out of the van with him (it was a van, dude tagged over their graffiti and got shot for it supposedly) as “Sleepy.” They put the photo in front of the girls in a lineup, and both sisters chose a different guy (Sleepy was #5, they both chose #4). While on the stand, she testified she couldnt remember if the defendant was the actual guy. Later the prosecuter recalled her ,and she now said “It was 100% him, I’m sure now.” The shooter got a plea bargain, 25-life down from 50-life, for his testimony, so he’ll say anything to get a deal. The kid was 15 and now serving 25 to life. And lastly they placed a hidden mic and recorded the defendant talking to another gang member after they were arrested and told what they knew. he said shit like “We all fucked up” and also “I got out of the van.” However, in context its not so bad. it went like “Yeah, but little boy is taking the blame” “Yeah but he said I got out of the van” “For reals?” “(I got out of the van) <in spanish>”. So he was more explaining what the shooter said not admitting it. He also had a job, worked 6am to 4:30 pm the day of the murder which took place at 6:12 pm, so thats cutting it close.
all in all Im pretty sure the cops just wanted to stick him with the case to close it, and figured because he was a gang member we’d overlook all the holes in the case. I thought I was gonna be the only one seeing the problems and have to argue vs the other 11,but the first vote was 10 innocent 2 guilty, so I was relieved.
No seriously, it was awesome. I was gonna die anyway and that last minute scramble was sweet. Everyone else flailing around between me and IWAL, then DG casually comes in and puts his vote on someone else.
