Mafia may have some safety in numbers, but contrary to what @ForgeDigger said mafia is not a game of numbers at it’s heart. Specially here on SRK where we have an established set of meta. If a mafia team consisting of the legion of doom got hit by the RNG goddess how likely would it be for them to choose another member? Maybe if their angle was to have complete control of the thread from the start of the word “go” they’d go for it. But really, they could just as easily be content with their team lineup and go for the option that gives them better information.
On the flipside if a mafia team consisting of mix of new players with “non top players” was hit by the RNG goddess, then chances are they’d go for a vet to lead them.
2: Choosing the UC’s:
This option is a little more subtle. A mafia choosing this option would try to manipulate the information and push for lynches on erroneous reads after days 1 and 2 while the UC’s are still trying to make heads or tails of if they’re the real UC or not. It’s an interesting mechanic, and that’s the key word, mechanic. As soon as one of the UC’s die the mechanic is no longer available for the mafia to use. So if they picked this option they’d have to tow the line between keeping the UC’s around to run daytime plays and rolehunting the UC’s so they can shut them down when they’ve gotten enough use out of it.
When it straight up comes down to it, the real question is this:
Do you believe the mafia are playing based off of player personalities and tendencies, or exploiting gameplay mechanics?
Which is where we’ll information about how the mafia is playing and furthermore produce us strong suspects. But that is a long way off from now since it’s day 1. *
Augustus - little to no contribution, fos Vynce, votes Fuzz
Saitsu - operates under assumption mafia picked both option 1(extra maf) and 2 (both uc reports)
orochizoolander - thinks mafia picked option 2
AlphaCommando - hasn’t stated anything about what mafia might have chosen, will lynch VynceDark General, Pimp Willy, Synonym, Icege and The Chief after 5 days, usual Fuzz boner, 90% chance mafia chose option 1, against lynching wallflowers just because
ForgeDigger - option 1, would like to lynch a wallflower
crucades - I’m assuming he thinks mafia picked option 1, with his blatant accusations of mafia recruits
RECESSIONTIME - no show 1 post: this game is less maf-favored
RadicalFuzz - option 1, is okay with lynching wallflowers
Vynce - option 1, talk of which side mafia picked = good way for mafia to seem like their contributing when they’re really not
Hecatom - little to no contribution, will lynch wallflowers if no other option, against being active because afraid to die
XthAtGAm3RGuYX - change of style, majorly against wallflowering, promises to maintain insightful, no statement of opinion on what mafia chose, mafia probably chose option 1, discussion of gameplay mechanics (ie - ucs don’t know which they are)
IWinALot - no show, I think? Made 1 post about being new, “do I really have to read every post?”
jasonC - will lynch last person to check in (Aidebit), would’ve chosen option 1(recruit person who has experience reading players), says if mafias are vets probably chose option 2, not time to hunt for recruits
Pimp Willy - is in jury duty, option 1, fos TGG
Bious - assumes option , fos Co-Co (posts are off), defends Aidebit (last time defended someone he was civ, h/w that someone was mafia)
Blindknagg - option 1 (option 2 banks on ucs), up for voting a wallflower
Icege - wallflower op bitching = more active now?
Synonym - would’ve taken option 2, defends fuzz(at least he posts)
The Co-Jones - says there’s wallflower salt, little to no contribution, retaliatory fos on Bious
Aidebit - no show? last check-in, more like option 1, avoid basing lynches off of pregame
SoVi3t - fos gcl and Icege?
The Chief - motivation of wallflowers (no baseless lynching)
DukeC - little to no contribution DarkGeneral - fos TGG
great cow lord - fos Synonym
Dandyman90 - made 1 check in post, little to no contribution
Also I hope you can understand that I’m not really going to take that advice from you. I’m reluctant to contribute because it got me killed immediately, and then the guy who killed me for it in the first place is now telling me to contribute. It sets off nearly all the bullshit detectors I have.
@ForgeDigger when was the last time you played like this? Providing the summaries. Not telling you to stop, but think about how it looks to me.
@DarkGeneral I hope you get caught up soon.
@gamer no offence but refusing to contribute because it might get you killed is retarded. The only time it’s a bad idea to share ground breaking Intel is night phase.
I really liked your contributions last game so it would be great if you could do that again.
Also, if there’s no better candidate I’m lynching hecatom today.
I was reading through the rules and mafia can sacrifice one of their own as a dummy role so wouldnt it make more sense to go with the recruit option especially when uc doesnt know if their findings are right or not. Maybe im missing something.
Fuzz, you put me on your shit list last game for getting salty and giving up.
Man up and contribute, chances are this isn’t going to pan out and if it does then srk Mafia is completely retarded.
Also @crucades, you called me the Mafia recruit on like page 1. That’s what she’s referring to lol. You have like 4 posts, try and keep track of them.
If you really are thinking what I think you’re thinking, then I will stop. My only intention was to make sure that things aren’t so easily forgotten like they are in the past. I believe the downsides to being helpful in this manner are outweighed by the advantages.
However, I am still learning to play this game. Maybe I overlooked something. You opinion is very welcome.
And I got the idea for this last game, when I started posting the timelines. It’s sort of an expansion of that, I guess.
