@Medic: Protect yourself and worry about survival. As long as the martyr is around we have another medic who can protect our civs from night kills.
@Vigi: Play it cool and worry about survival. Try to peg the martyr early so you don’t end up wasting a stock on them and neutralize part of their ability.
If a player like Syn, Vynce or Chief is the Martyr then they could be as helpful alive as they dead and in a lover position with real firepower. Those players when in a lover position has shown themselves to be incredibly strong civ assests. Furthermore they are known for their strong civ play/play in general. We’d be lucky to have one of them be the Martyr or Vigi and I fully trust their discretion and decision making if that’s the case.
On the other side of things, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee that the vigi will take advantage of their partnership. Or guarantee that the two people will get along. Forge and C_K being partnered up again springs to my mind as a particularly hilarious example.
Also there is the possibility that the martyr and medic could form a super protective force against mafia kills. But even that has it’s upsides and downsides. I thought about how we could have our medic and martyr try to form a protective field ala the danganronpa game but my plans kept getting cut by Occam’s Razor.
I’m sure others can/will chime in with their opinions on the matter. There’s still a ton of people who haven’t checked in yet since the game has just begun.
To me, It is just another lovers PM when Martyr dies except the martyr isn’t talking public and Vigi is acting as one with a mind of two. I wouldn’t make it a priority but, it would useful if Vigi had alot more thought going into his stocks/kills
Creating an infinite protection only leaves 2 civs alive. I see that only being super useful late game. Nail’s role in general would do better late game than early game. We do have to keep in mind how immortal roles have been in the past few games; while they’ve been insightful, I don’t recall anything that’s been an exceptional advantage to the civs.
In short, I think Nail’s protect ability is more advantageous than his immortal ability.
Something you guys should know about how I plan on playing this game: Normally, I’d abstain from looking askance at certain people. But, since my decision to play impersonally, I’ve decided to keep a closer eye on those I would normally let through. c:
