Wouldn’t that be easy to fool by having someone that’s not [SWBeta] role claim? I guess since only the demons gain anything from it they might not want to role claim because it would more or less confirm that they are a demon.
I feel like its risky, but that’s a smart play I hadn’t thought of. I felt like it was pretty likely that SWBeta survives without any help anyway, but this turns the 95% into a 100%, and basically guarantees us a day 4 lynch of mafia. You might not get as much info as you think, since if they know <kaz> is dying day 4 they can easily use the first 3 days as mind games.
The upside is that the medic, if they’re protecting SWBeta, isn’t gonna disrupt the UC investigations. Without a Forger role on the mafia side, we really can’t afford to protect the UC over and over again lol
If mafia role claims then all [SWB] would have to do is counterclaim. One of them gets lynched and the other gets popped by Vigi/lynched the next day. Us civs lose 1 of 24/25 while the Mafia lose 1 of 5/6.
Now if it was a roleless civ that claimed then that’s a different story. Assuming the real [SWB] keeps quiet he still puts himself at risk of lynch/vigi/mafia kill before night 3. Thus we lose our chance at an easy way to get rid of [Kaz].
I’m against plans that require certain roles to all play along. You never know who’s a giant idiot, and it only takes one screw up and the house of cards falls apart. I vote no.
Another con is that the Mafia knows who <Kaz> is, and that he would be dead come Day 4, so we’d gain very little information from any actions towards <Kaz>
Also, the plan isn’t dependent on <Icege> protecting <SWB> every night, but it’s dependent on <Icege> saying he will. If he plays his cards right he can protect others if he feels <Beta> isn’t going to be killed, and <Beta> when he feels the Mafia thinks he’ll protect others.
I’ve been musing over the idea since I seen MP clarified that only [Missing Person] couldn’t roleclaim and have his ability revoked. There’s a chance that [SWB] would survive until night 3 but I didn’t put high stock into that line of thinking. 3 deaths per cycle for two and a half cycles (assuming vigi lives that long). That’s 7 chances at death [SWB] would have to survive, it’s doable but by no means absolute. Even if he’s not in any hot water at lynch time he still has to survive night kills.
I didn’t even think about the side effect of stopping the medic from tying up the UC. That’s another positive outcome. Though I didn’t think about the UC investing much because Mafia has no Forger.
As for who is [Kaz], it does make his eventual death a bit of a mystery when reading his prior actions. But even if that’s the case, there’s still should be 1 or 2 ways we can use the data. Specially if we nab a mafia before [Kaz]'s death.*
Except the house of cards, as you put it, puts nobody but <SWBeta> at risk and offers little risk for moderate reward, the reward being a possible protect from a night kill and a dead mafioso.
See, this is why I’m against this sort of thing. It’s not just that the roles have to do the right thing. It’s that they can’t fuck up in any way. If <Icege> went by RF and are new, they might have read that post and assume they need to RC to do it, and we lose our medic.
<Icege>: don’t come out under any circumstances.
<SWBeta>: don’t be hasty and RC until we really figure this out. It might be a good idea in the end, but I’m not convinced yet. Too many ways to screw up.
There’s already a relatively complex plan on the floor, and we’re seeing why complex plans are more detrimental than we often think.
