SRK Mafia XI: Vampires Vs Werewolves - Game Over: Town Wins!

But your paranoia about my post does inadvertently put you on my radar, despite my intentions of just going in on Bious and Azure, you stuck your neck into that one.

Radar, not lynch list. I’m waiting, like always, for a little bit in Day 1 to throw in my ballot.

There are a few clarifications I will need to make on the cards. Initiate = Starting Vampire/Werewolf, converts = Recruited mid game.

There’s 3 levels of people that can be “cured” by the doctor, we covered it in the sign ups but to clarify

“Initiate” - Somebody who started the game as a vampire/werewolf. If they are “cured” then it will show up as they were cured, but they aren’t really. They survive and keep playing as a Vampire/Werewolf.
“Convert” - somebody who was recruited mid game as a vampire/werewolf. If they are “cured” then they show up as they were cured, and are now town again (and immune for the rest of the game). They can use the info they got to help the town win the game.
“Town” - Somebody who was never bit. If they are “cured” then they die.

One edge case, is Van Helsing.

Van Helsing not bit - dies from the doctor
Van Helsing Bit - Cured by the doctor and lives just like a “convert.” Even though he’s not really a “Convert” he behaves like one, its just his special ability has him always trying to win for the town.

Ok, a few things that I fucked up on and it didn’t make the rules like it should have, or needs special clarification:

  1. People in “lovers” PM, you are immune from bite while the other lover is alive and has your back. Priest/Doctor, Soldier/Jailer, Fortune Teller/Witch.

  2. Death Writeups will not be as detailed as in previous games. Write-ups will detail the finding of dead bodies, but not who did the killing. this is where the Coroner comes in. Actions which are prevented will show up, i.e. if 2 assassinates target the same person and they get away, this will be reflected. Or if a protection goes off, or if the Doctor cures somebody or kills them trying, when somebody is jailed. etc.

  1. There are 3 Vampires, and 3 Werewolves to start the game. 1 Leader and 2 roleless initiates from each side. What roles are given to the initiates using Promote is up to each faction.
  • Interesting post, for a couple of reasons. Due to how this game works there is a multitude of angles you could be shooting from. I had something else typed up here, but then something donned on me on. I think I see what you’re trying to do. I’ll wait and see how it plays out for now.

@PimpWilly

What abilities, if any, are one time use only? *

no one time use abilities in this game

i’m back in there!

don’t worry guys, those bastards wont be eating us anytime soon!

I assumed Bious’s vote wasn’t serious, he’s been making that joke a lot recently. And just to clarify, my sticking my neck into the situation due to paranoia of your intentions reflects poorly on me and you’re now paying closer heed to me, correct? Not trying to argue a point, just making sure we’re on the same page.

Initial thoughts:

-When someone is about to be lynched with majority vote, he will be sacrificed by dracula
-can powerless vampire and werewolf be cured?
-vampire powers self serving but Lucian’s eviscerate is?
-Van Helsing don’t be dumb
-when vampires gain a lot they can be easily sacrificed for misdirection
-Eviscerate not that dangerous because before civilian dies he can post last gasp preemptively
-Do werewolves n vampires each get 1 kill a night? If so it seems very stacked against civilians, can someone explain bite?
-Coroner might be worthless if Dracula amasses a few
-Applications of mayor?
-Anyone revealed as inconclusive atuomatically lynched
-doctor/priest and jailer/soldier and fortune teller/witch it would be awesome if you guys found a way to find out each other’s identity without letting werewolves/vampires find out lol, that’s not likely until a few civilians die, but at least we have 3 duos with good synergy immediately
-Jailer you have the most powerful ability for the civilians, please use it wisely
-Only 1 Dracula and Lucian at a time right?
-Make obvious kill targets for vampires/werewolves so each side assumes the other will kill him and not go for it to avoid the civilian to escaping leading to exactly that by both sides not killing him

Despite the saltiness I am still feeling thanks to him I have not actually cast a vote on him (or anyone else.) I actually want to hear his thoughts on you.

Shit, I forgot about the Bious joke.

As usual OZ I’m not convinced you’ve read the rules before you start asking questions.

The Doctor/Pries, Jailer/Soldier, and Tortune Feller/Witch are all in PMs, they’re all Lovers essentially, so they can communicate privately.
Pimp just finished explaining the possibilities of vampires & werewolves being cured.
The “Inconclusive” from the Detective only applies to roleless civs and starting Werewolves/Vampires, and both factions can screw with the results.

Why am I still surprised that OZ can be so clueless.

This is going to be another one of those games where shit happens mostly due to fuckups isn’t it?

*Thanks Pimp Dubs.

This opens up quite a few possibilities. But firstly, does the Politician have a finite amount of people he can put in the town hall or is it unlimited? Because right now judging by the wording on his card he can put everyone except himself into the town hall every night phase.

If my assumption is right, how many people are opposed to the Politician doing this? I like the idea on first thought because we’ll have a confirmed untouchable civ that’ll never die for the entirety of the game. Plus he gets a vote every day, can’t be recruited, vigi killed, shapeshifted or any other night shenanigans.

If someone can point out any flaws in the Politician doing this, speak up.

Doing so means we lose the mix-up of Vampires and Werewolves being unable to target players without them knowing they can’t target them (until it’s too late). If the Mayor comes out, then Mafia know that they can target anyone except for that specific person without them being on the opposite side of the town hall.

*Hmmm, that’s a good point assuming we don’t find out who is put into the town hall isn’t reflected in the day phase write up.

Pimp Willy, do you care to enlighten us on how the town hall ability works? Is the politician the only person who knows whose in the hall? Is it reflected in the write up? Are people with roles in the hall notified by pm? *

Checking in. This is looking interesting already.

What are your first impressions on everybody?

I’m completely late to the party but just got done reading through four pages of tricks and dicks. There are a couple things that I’m stewing on right now. One is the question of rather or not a someone would come out if they’ve been bitten or not. Odds are that two people are going to be turned a night, but only one can be cured. Doesn’t that kinda mean that the guy that doesn’t get cured is like auto-lynched the next day?
The other thing is more like a prediction…I’m just imagining how important the last gasps are going to be as the game draws out.
Also, considering how the villagers have a pretty big numbers advantage, it would seem like accidentally lynching a townie wouldn’t be that big of a deal at first…but then again, after a couple of days, the villagers are probably going to be dropping left and right.

Anyway, just checking in
