This is my first Mafia game, so I hope not to fuck it up for everyone else.

But yeah… It was a strategic move back then, though I really hated to do it. I mentioned that you were already “cleared” by the UC in the game. It P.Shrimp who was being unreasonable, lol (as he has always been).

As for this game goes: what is your impression so far?

So, I’m totally new to this shit, but from what I’m gathering so far… in terms of whoever’s Nemesis, his ability to take his killer out with him could help “us” narrow it down. I mean, if “we” see two people die at once then I’m gonna assume that it was probably a result of his Meltdown ability. His intimidation ability (if used carelessly, I suppose) could also be a factor in identifying who is on what side. For example: let’s say Nemesis keeps using the ability on just 1 or 2 different people, and alternates between them. If “we” see someone who regularly posts, suddenly stop posting on an every other day basis, then it can possibly be assumed that Nemesis knows who he’s targeting, which would also probably be a Marvel civ.
Does any of this make sense or am I just talking out my ass?

Mafia knows who each other are right? Of course he’d silence a Marvel civ, Nemesis would have no reason to silence another Mafia, except for mindgames/yomi.
And checking in just serves to prove you’re not inactive.
Too many roles, too many abilities as usual are my thoughts toward this type of game. I’m only playing out of obligation, though hoping to contribute more than I have before in other games. It’s always a learning experience that’s for sure.
In any case, I think I’ll share more after the night phase depending on how things pan out. I think I have a few reads early on but it’s all speculation as of right now, nothing concrete which is usually the case.
But yeah, as I recall it was you that was being unreasonable at the time. P Shrimp was just instigating. Water under the bridge for right now, but I don’t trust anyone yet in this game…
Checking in so you don’t get labeled as inactive, yeah. Yes, Mafia know each other and are able to talk to each other outside of the game about the game.
First day ends up being not extraordinarily useful. Usually takes a couple of phases to get really good reads on people. Votes have to be in before tomorrow at 11EST so no rush, aside from when Wesker’s lvl 3 activates.

I was reading over the roles last night before I went to sleep and they are so crazy that I think I ended up having a dream about them lol.
Anyway who hasn’t checked in yet.
First day is always terrible, because we don’t really have anything to go on. Somebody inevitably comes along, pushes for a no-lynch, everyone mob mentality gang rapes him, and people start bickering, somebody gets upset and shuts down for the rest of the game, and then we lynch a civilian. (except for last game, where the dude gave himself up as mafia basically lol)
So, anyway to avoid this? Nobody wants to speak up with nothing to go on, and the only people who start talking start making themselves look suspicious. Case in point:
Missing Person is either trying way too hard to find a mafia on what is basically nothing (The entire “we” debacle), or he’s playing Mafia way too aggressive for the first day, I don’t know yet
So, do we just roll the dice, and lynch somebody at random and hope for the best? Don’t see what other alternative we have
I have a question regarding the last gasp. Do we can put anything we want on them?

I’m sure there are going to be at least a few inactives that don’t post at all. It did feel bad killing an inactive in the last game, because seem likely to be Civs. Last game being an exception (and the only one I’ve played…)
Last time we lynched the most inactive person first and it paid off. How about we try it again?
One question for @SWBeta about Magneto.
Magneto is on the civ side but knows all of the Mafia Members right?
In that case cant he just role claim and have the redneck bastard, Ghost Rider in this case, kill him and then send his last gasp to She-Hulk. Then have She-Hulk role claim so she can be killed off and we would get the entire list of Mafia members?
Or am I overlooking something? I am still trying to get a grasp on the special roles so please forgive me if that makes no sense.

On the one hand, that makes sense because somebody who is inactive isn’t going to be a help anyway
But, people that are Mafia tend to not be inactive, because they are constantly getting PM alerts in their email… though Im not sure if this is the default on the new SRK. Kinda meta-gaming it, but hey tools are tools. Thats why it was such a shocker last time.
Of course many people who are mafia won’t post in this thread until they talk with their buddies, so I’d say keep a look out for people who appear inactive but then slide in at the last minute.
