Bodies are strewn along the streets, not unlike scattered grains on the ground tossed by a bird-feeder. Screams, howls, all manner of unearthly noise, produce a cacophonic symphony the likes of which can be said to be conducted by Blackheart himself. One could smell, and even almost taste the blood in the air as the wind blows over the murky fog in the area. There is no more accurate an image of hopelessness, despair, and chaos as this scene I see before me.
If that sounds familiar, that is because it is. I uttered those same words a few years ago during my observation of the Marvel invasion of the Capcom dimension.
I’ve been sent on another observation mission by Galactus. Another invasion has taken place, but this time around, things are a little different.
After the Capcom invasion led by Dormammu was thwarted, the Capcoms closed off all pathways into their dimension and remained isolated from the rest of the universe for a few years. Under orders, I managed to sneak into the dimension right before it was locked down. Almost immediately after the lockdown, Albert Wesker began a huge campaign to rebuild the broken world and take certain measures to ensure that Capcom would never get invaded again. Through this campaign, Wesker gained a lot of popularity, and quickly rose to power in the world. He was regarded as a war time leader who got things done.
And indeed, he did.
Mere years after the Marvel invasion, he had rebuilt the Capcom dimension greater than it ever was. He infiltrated the government and climbed the ranks until he became the ruler. As ruler, he turned Capcom into a military state, and trained young soldiers to be ready for what would eventually become this day.
This is the day Capcom re-opened all of it’s transportation pathways to the universe. It is also the day Capcom invaded the Marvel dimension. Wesker called it a retaliatory strike, and a preventative measure to make sure that Capcom would never be invaded again. The entire world, still angry and thirsty for revenge, backed his every move.
The vanguard was led by Wesker himself, and they successfully infiltrated the Marvel dimension without being detected. Over a few months, the Marvel dimension slowly got destroyed by surprise attacks led by Wesker’s vanguard. In a few more months, only one bastion remained in the entire Marvel world. This bastion contained Marvel’s elite soldiers. Of course, Wesker’s vanguard had infiltrated it some time ago while under disguise. Every night, the Marvels would wake up to find a few more of their friends and family dead within the bastion walls.
Fast forward to now. There are a handful of them left. Leaving the bastion is not an option for them, because it has food, supplies, and weaponry. It will be interesting to see what they do to overcome their predicament.
They seem to be having some sort of meeting. I need to record some of this for Galactus.
“This has gone on long enough,” Fudd said.
“Clearly the enemy is hiding among us. No one can be trusted,” WTF-AKUMA-HAX added.
“Yeah, that’s obvious enough. But how the hell do we figure out who the enemy is?” Bulldancer asked.
“I don’t suppose we can interrogate everyone one by one?” Neesa asked, half joking.
“Who would be the authority to conduct the interrogation? We’re all equally untrustworthy” kaz said, adjusting his cap.
“There’s something awfully familiar about this situation…” FlyingWonkey mumbled, barely audible to the group.
“World destroyed… last surviving group is very small… confined in a very small location… enemies hidden among the group…” highlulu whispered.
“That’s it!” Zero jumped up. “This is exactly what happened when Dormammu invaded the Capcom dimension!”
“You don’t mean… a retaliatory invasion?” PatakaReada asked.
“That’s the only thing I can think of.” Sovi3t answered.
“Alright, listen up. This goes to the Capcoms hiding among us. We had NOTHING to do with that invasion Dormammu started. It’s too little too late to come to an understanding, though. Everything is gone now. Right now, all I want to do is kill every last one of you, so at least our world doesn’t end up as your playground to do with as you please!” NinetiesArcade bellowed.
“Yeah, he’s right! We’ve all read the leaked files of Dormammu’s botched invasion. We know how you won. We’ll use your own tactics to snuff you out!” Pimp Willy shouted.
“It’s time to lynch us some Capcoms, boys and girls!” sikwidit said, cracking his knuckles.
“Let’s start the voting discussion immediately. I want those bastards dead by week’s end.” Missing Person added, anger written all over his face.
