I am noticing that the B is capitalized this time around. Do I get in trouble now if I call you Swbeta? This is so confusing!
So from my understanding the posting schedule SEEMS to be once every 2 days or so? As in, you need to get a post/vote in at least once during that time other risk getting the no participation penalty right?
I’m just asking this first to see if my schedule would allow for it. I saw the last Mafia thread and I didn’t really “get” it but it sure seemed fun. Reminds me a lot of games like Bang! the Bullet and Saboteur and Shadow Hunters and such with the hidden roles and no one knows who is who theme.

All special roles will have standard abilities and Level 3 Supers. Level 3 Supers are their ultimate abilities. When used, they come with a heavy price. Standard Capcom Citizens and Marvel Invaders do not have any special abilities.
A few extra things that I forgot to add to the OP:
Last Gasps:
When a Capcom Citizen dies, they may use a Last Gasp to leave a final message to their fellow Capcoms. The killed Capcom will PM me, the moderator, what they would like to say in their Last Gasp, and I will post it in the thread. The Last Gasp can be anything and everything you would like to get off your chest.
Special thanks to Tiexandra, from the Tekken Zaibatsu forums, for letting me jack most of these special role ideas from his game. :china:
? CAPCOM CITIZENS SPECIAL ROLES
**- Okami Amaterasu
Crimson Viper
The Darkstalkers
Albert Wesker
Viewtiful Joe
Sir Arthur
**
Okami Amaterasu :
The Japanese Shinto Goddess of the Sun. Her real form is unknown, but appears to mortals as a white wolf. Using her powers in the form of the Celestial Brush, she is able to perform all sorts of godly miracles at will.
Standard Ability: Rejuvenation
Using the Celestial Brush, Amaterasu is able to reverse life-threatening actions performed on a target of her choosing during the night. This ability protects the target from Marvel Invader kills and other Special Role kills. Amaterasu cannot use this ability on herself.
Level 3 Super: Sunrise
Using the Celestial Brush, Amaterasu is able to summon the sun at anytime she wishes, even at night! By summoning the sun and changing night to day, all parties that are active at night are discouraged from moving or acting. This ability CANCELS all Night Time Phase activities and forces the game into the Day Time Phase. After using this ability, Amaterasu’s identity is revealed to all Marvel Invaders on that Day Time Phase. This ability can only be used ONCE in the entire game, and it replaces the standard ability for the night.
Crimson Viper
An elite CIA Double Agent trained in the art of subterfuge and espionage. She has a variety of spy-related gadgets and tools at her disposal. Using her powers, she is able to gather intelligence on all sorts of things that befall Capcom Citizens.
Standard Ability: Homing Bug
C. Viper secretly plants a homing bug on her target at night and is able to investigate the target. The target is then identified as either ‘INNOCENT’ or ‘GUILTY.’ After a target has been investigated, for all days afterward, C. Viper will be able to tell if the target was the recipient of any special ability during the previous night, whether it is from the Capcom side or the Marvel side. C. Viper will only be able to figure out the ability used upon the targets, and not the users of those abilities. C. Viper can use this ability on herself.
Level 3 Super: Espionage
C. Viper dons a cloaking device and briefly follows each of the targets she has investigated. After a bit of eavesdropping, she is able to identify the true identities of all targets she has bugged. She is also able to learn what previous Night Time Phase activity each target took. As a result of sneaking about all night, C. Viper will be unable to return home before sunrise, and will be caught by Marvels finishing up their jobs, revealing her true identity to all Marvel Invaders on that Day Time Phase. This ability can only be used ONCE in the entire game, and it replaces the standard ability for the night. Using the Espionage ability during the same turn C. Viper is killed will cause her to forfeit her Last Gasp.
The Darkstalkers
The Darkstalkers are a trio of Capcom Citizens that are the best of friends, and know for certain that all of them are Capcom Citizens. The Darkstalkers are Morrigan , Felicia , and Hsien-Ko .
Standard Ability: Occult Link
All three Darkstalkers, being creatures of the Occult, can telepathically communicate to each other. In other words, Darkstalkers can PM each other for the entire duration of the game. They can PM only fellow Darkstalkers, no one else.
Level 3 Super: Projection
All three Darkstalkers, combining their powers, are able to project their thoughts into the mind of a non-Darkstalker. All three Darkstalkers must PM me, the moderator, the message they wish to send to any living player. I will forward the message to the target. After the message is sent, if the recipient wishes to reply back, they must send a PM to me, the moderator, and I will forward the message to the Darkstalkers. This ability can only be used ONCE in the entire game.
Albert Wesker
Mad scientist extraordinaire, he is well known for his experiments on human subjects to test a special virus that grants super-human abilities to its host. He has no love for his fellow Capcoms and has made plans to join the Marvels.
Standard Ability: Traitor
Wesker has all the abilities of a standard Capcom Citizen. C. Viper’s homing bug investigations on Wesker will always return the result ‘INNOCENT.’ If the Marvel Invaders win the game, Wesker joins them in victory. If Capcom Citizens win, Wesker gets found out and lynched.
Level 3 Super: T-Virus Data
Wesker saves a hard-copy of all of his research data on the T-Virus and hopes to present the data to the Marvels at night in exchange for becoming a Marvel himself. Wesker will PM me, the moderator, with his choice for the recipient of the research data. If the target is a Marvel, Wesker becomes a Marvel Apprentice, but loses the ability to be found ‘INNOCENT’ after a C. Viper homing bug investigation. If the target is a Capcom, Wesker’s identity is exposed to everyone in the following Day Time Phase. This ability can only be used ONCE in the entire game.
Viewtiful Joe
Joe had always dreamed of becoming a true hero like the ones he’d seen in movies. When the Marvels attack, he decides to stray from the weak and unassertive Capcom Citizens and become a super hero, so that he can things his own way… Viewtifully.
Standard Ability: Viewtiful Take-Downs
During the night, Joe puts on his costume and goes out Marvel-hunting in secret. V. Joe can choose to kill one target of his choosing per night, and leaves a Viewtiful Emblem behind as his signature to differentiate his kill from the Marvels. If Amaterasu, Crimson Viper or the Joe himself is killed due to a standard Marvel murder, Joe earns a kill for each. Joe is able to stock up these kills and use them as he pleases, but he is only allowed one kill per night. Joe starts off with only 2 kills, and only gains kills if Amaterasu, Crimson Viper, or Joe himself is killed. If Joe is killed, he takes a target of his choosing with him. Joe cannot use Viewtiful Take-Downs and Indiscriminate Justice on the same night.
Standard Ability: Indiscriminate Justice
During the night, Joe can choose to kill a person who has voted “NO LYNCH”, not voted for anything, or has unlynched and chose nobody else during the previous day. This chance to kill is completely independent from any stocked Viewtiful Take-Downs. Any target of Indiscriminate Justice will simply be labeled as “DISAPPEARED”, and Joe will not be identified as the killer of the target.
Level 3 Super: Temporal Distortion
Using his powers of time manipulation, Joe is able to stop the flow of time around Crimson Viper, and is able to go into her house and look at all of the investigation data she has compiled. Joe obtains the list of all Investigation results previously done by C. Viper, as well as C. Viper’s true identity. This ability can be invoked even after C. Viper has been killed. However, during the next day, Joe?s identity is revealed to all Marvels, who just happened to be walking outside C. Viper’s house and took a peek inside. If Joe opts to invoke Temporal Distortion, he forfeits his Last Gasp and loses both of his standard abilities for the rest of the game. This ability can only be used ONCE in the entire game.
Extra Note
Viewtiful Joe will read as ‘GUILTY’ after C. Viper’s homing bug investigation.
Sir Arthur
A skilled knight committed to the noble cause of protecting his fellow Capcom-folk from all hostile forces, no matter the foe or price. Very charismatic, he is able to move people into helping his cause.
Standard Ability: Selfless
If Amaterasu, Crimson Viper, or Viewtiful Joe are to die during the night due to a standard Marvel murder without Amaterasu’s protection, the target is saved and Arthur automatically dies during that current night. Amaterasu cannot save Arthur from dying due to the effects of Selfless. Arthur lets me, the moderator, know by PM if he wants to invoke Selfless on a given night or not.
Level 3 Super: The Call to Arms
Utilizing his charisma, Arthur is able to move two Capcom Citizens of his choosing to help him protect the entire Capcom population. When The Call to Arms is invoked, all members of the Capcom Citizens will be saved from any and all kills aimed at them during that current night. However, Arthur and his two targets die automatically during that same night. Amaterasu cannot save Arthur and his two targets from dying due to the effects of The Call to Arms.
? MARVEL INVADERS SPECIAL ROLES
**- Marvel Apprentice
Dormammu
M.O.D.O.K.
Akuma
Sentinel
Dark Phoenix
Shuma Gorath
**
Marvel Apprentice
The Marvel Apprentice is an individual training to become a full fledged Marvel.
Standard Ability: The Dark Side
An Apprentice’s identity is revealed to all Marvels and is given the power to PM them as well.
Level 3 Super: None
Dormammu
The ruler of the Dark Dimension and one of the most powerful evil forces in the omniverse. The leader of the Marvel Invaders, he chooses not to dirty his hands, and instead secretly delegates from the shadows, while masquerading as a Capcom Citizen the entire time.
Standard Ability: Dark Innocence
Dormammu will read as ‘INNOCENT’ after C. Viper’s homing bug investigation.
Level 3 Super: Dark Tutelage
Dormammu may use Dark Tutelage more than once. If the M.O.D.O.K. or the Shuma Gorath dies due to any reason, Dormammu may choose to take a Marvel Apprentice under his wing and “upgrade” one of them into a new replacement for M.O.D.O.K. or Shuma Gorath. The choice to upgrade the Apprentice will only come once, and if it is passed, then the opportunity is lost. When Dormammu invokes Dark Tutelage, he loses his Dark Innocence ability for the rest of the game.
M.O.D.O.K.
Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. Although designed only for killing, M.O.D.O.K. has been ordered by Dormammu to take a different approach from the norm when dealing with the Capcoms…
Standard Ability: Mental Manipulation
M.O.D.O.K. chooses a target each night. If C. Viper uses the homing bug on the target, the readings will be reversed in C. Viper’s mind. A ‘GUILTY’ target will appear ‘INNOCENT’ and an ‘INNOCENT’ target will appear ‘GUILTY.’ M.O.D.O.K. may choose to target himself.
Level 3 Super: The Perfect Crime
If M.O.D.O.K. chooses to invoke The Perfect Crime, the standard Marvel Invader kill will be canceled for the current night. When M.O.D.O.K. invokes The Perfect Crime, all of C. Viper’s homing bug investigations during the current night are manipulated no matter who the targets are. M.O.D.O.K. will then die in the current night in a manner that looks like he was murdered by the Marvels, and in his death, he will be revealed as any role of his choice, and will be allowed a Last Gasp if he chooses to masquerade as a role from the Capcoms.
Akuma
A legendary fighter with only one goal: To be the absolute strongest. In order to increase the dark power within him, the ex-Capcom Citizen decides to join forces with the Marvels. Being an outsider, Akuma does not know who the Marvels are, and the Marvels do not know Akuma’s real identity. Akuma feels that he needs to “display” the effects of his dark powers when unleashed on a few Capcoms to send a message to the Marvels… that he’s on their side.
Standard Ability: Shun Goku Satsu
Akuma is able to kill independently from the standard Marvel Invader kill. Akuma may only get one kill for each Marvel Invader killed due to a day phase lynch. Akuma is able to stock up these kills and use them as he pleases, but he is only allowed one kill per night. However, his targets are limited only to living members with the three lowest current post counts. If more than three people have the three lowest post counts due to a post count tie, Akuma is able to select among all of them. If Akuma is among the people with the three lowest post counts, he will not be able to use Shun Goku Satsu (SGS) for the current night.
Standard Ability: Messatsu Tenma-Gohado Agyo
Akuma cannot use Messatsu Tenma-Gohado Agyo (MTGA) and Shun Goku Satsu (SGS) on the same night. During the night, the Akuma can choose to kill a person who has voted “NO LYNCH”, not voted for anything, or has unlynched and chose nobody else during the previous day. This chance to kill is completely independent from any stocked SGS kills. Any target of MTGA will simply be labeled as “DISAPPEARED”, and Akuma will not be identified as the killer of the target.
Level 3 Super: Satsui no Hado
Akuma chooses a target, and he releases his Satsui no Hado power to display his tendencies toward evil. Akuma’s true identity will be revealed to his target. If his target turns out to be a member of the Marvel Invaders, Akuma will turn into a Marvel Apprentice, and he will gain the opportunity to PM the rest of the Marvels. This ability can only be used ONCE in the entire game, and it replaces his standard ability for the current night.
Sentinel
A giant robot created for the sole purpose of the genocide of mutantkind. Dormammu was able to locate an abandoned Sentinel thought to have malfunctioned and reprogram it to do his bidding.
Standard Ability: Intimidation
Being a large robot, Sentinel is able to impose himself on and intimidate a Capcom Citizen to force them to be silent during the following day phase. The Silenced player cannot participate in active discussion for that day phase, and can only place a lynch vote. Sentinel can invoke Intimidation once every two nights.
Level 3 Super: Self-Destruct
If Sentinel is killed, it takes its killer out as well, no matter who the killer is. If Sentinel dies as a result of a day phase lynch, Sentinel is able to select who dies along with it, by PMing me, the moderator. This ability is always active.
Dark Phoenix
The ultimate, all-powerful mutant. Her near-infinte power is supremely alluring and irresistible to all who have had the opportunity to taste it.
Standard Ability: Allure of the Phoenix
Dark Phoenix is able to seduce a morally wavering target with the promise of power and convert the target into a Marvel Invader. Dark Phoenix can use this ability once every three nights, but after the first time is used, her identity is exposed to Crimson Viper, who happens to be trailing D. Phoenix’s target. The second time, her identity is exposed to Viewtiful Joe, who manages to spot her during one of his night time patrols. The third time, her identity is exposed to Amaterasu, who decides to exercise her godly power of omniscience at random, for once. The fourth time, her identity is exposed to all.
Level 3 Super: Phoenix Rises
If Dark Phoenix is killed, after three days she is revived not as Dark Phoenix, but as regular Phoenix. She automatically converts into a Capcom Citizen. She is immune to all Marvel kills for the next three days. Dark Phoenix’s identity is not revealed upon dying. If Phoenix dies, she is denied a Last Gasp. This ability is automatic.
Shuma Gorath
Ruler of the Chaos Dimension, Shuma is no stranger to the chaos that an invasion of this magnitude creates. As an extremely powerful being, he opts to participate in the invasion using as little effort as possible, until he is really needed.
Standard Ability: Mystic Stare
For as long as Shuma Gorath is alive, if any Marvel Invader (excluding Akuma) is the target of any standard ability, Shuma will be informed of it during the next day, thanks to his all-seeing eye. The eye sees what ability was used, not the true identity of ability user.
Level 3 Super: Chaos
As an exception to the general rule, the Chaos ability is used in the middle of the day phase. At any point in the day, Shuma Gorath may summon the energies of the Chaos Dimension right onto the voting fray, creating mass hysteria and chaos. This NULLIFIES everyones’ votes and forces the game into the Night Time Phase. However, the Stalker’s identity is revealed to the Amaterasu, Crimson Viper, and Viewtiful Joe at the start of the next day phase. This ability can only be used ONCE in the entire game.
Still working on that write-up.

For new players:
Again, this game is Capcoms vs Marvels.
If you are a Capcom, you are active during the day time. You gather together and discuss who to kill as retaliation for the previous night’s murder, and to find out who the Marvels are. You vote to kill a player and the player with the highest votes gets lynched. After the player is lynched, the day is over and the Capcoms go to sleep. This is when the Marvels are active. Capcoms may no longer discuss the game until the next day cycle.
If you are a Marvel, you are active during the night time. You gather and discuss through PM who to kill for the night. Only Dormammu can send me a PM of who the Marvels have decided to kill. All Capcom special roles that are active at night can be used in this phase, by PMing me. After I receive all PMs (on time, please), the game reverts back to the day cycle. Marvels are hidden among the Capcoms during the day time, and can discuss and vote to kill a player off just like a Capcom can.

There are 5, actually. There is only a chance that Akuma and/or Wesker can become a true mafia/marvel. Dark Phoenix can raise those numbers, though, at a risk.
i can tell this is going to be a long and stressful game.
