SRK Lounge: Word On The Street Is

that ted clip reminded me of why I dont find any of Seth McFarlane’s shows funny

I start at Gamestop @ 7 tonight. I just wanna say to everyone who thought I couldn’t do it, you had every right to think so. It was hella sketchy.

unless you’re a youtube troll. fuck the shirts for now. I’m on to bigger things.

in all seriousness I will attempt to speak to about things, important things, in the future.

so i hope you’ll have time for me and not having moments as if you’re a new character on Family Guy. everytime you see ANY white girl with even the slightest bit of hips, the chorus from this song plays as you drool over mediocrity. pan in slowly to this negro’s glimmer in his eye

One of those, pop culture trivia quiz thing. Normally free, but it was a special Simpsons trivia night, and there was a $5 cover charge, and a [small] chunk of that went to the winners. Me and my partner (who did most of the heavy lifting), ended up splitting it and getting $37 each. They have them in a hundred cities, and the one I go to usually has a good number of people in it. You should check one out.

Oh LMFAO

I am so, so very sorry.

Least he has employment.

You’ve obviously never worked at a Gamestop during the Christmas season. That company is horrible to work for. I know, I did it twice. EB Games was a much better run company, and I actually enjoyed working there as a manager until they were bought out by Gamestop. Seriously, losing my home was a far more preferable option than working at that shithole company.

akuma,

start using “FACT” to separate all your paragraphs

No I’ve never had a job as GS. I’ve worked in other shit holes tho Duckie. McD’s, BK, Walmart, Friendly’s. They all fuckin suck, and take advantage of you and the fact your replaceable, but not everyone can be in a situation where losing their home is an option.

I just think when it comes to the hard times people are in it’s better to be supportive then cynical. It’s not like he has to stay there forever anything.

Sounds too much like Canon.

I worked for GS (known back then as Funcoland) during the 2002 Xmas season, and was kept on past the seasonal position. The highlight of my employment at GS was sitting down and alphabetically sorting Wind Waker reservations by last name. That took me 4 hours…

That’s completely fine. Everyone knows those jobs are shitty, though. Too many people would think working at a Gamestop would be amazing. It’s not. You know how tons of people hate Gamestop employees? Well the employees hate having to do what they do even more.

And you know what really sucks? I can’t even get a job at a place like McDonald’s because I’ve got so much professional experience that I keep getting told I’m “overqualified”. If I get turned down for a job like that one more time, I’m going to scream.

As an aside, I found out the other day that I’m ineligible now for a lot of IT jobs because I’m seeing that an active sense of 3-Dimensional concepts are required for IT Admin jobs. That REALLY sucks.

So, some jackass tweeted the home address of a gay couple so that his “Justice Team” will visit them. I hope this guy got arrested and nothing happened to the couple.

I’m wondering what a British Justice League would be like.

something like this.

Actually Funcoland was another store chain that Gamestop absorbed, later rebranding them all into Gamestop stores. I know exactly what you mean though; I worked at a Gamestop in 2001 during the Xbox launch, and those paper reservation slips were hell.

I think anyone with half a brain (Or is older then 15) can see GS is a shitty job. Maybe not as shitty as it actually is, but the writings on the wall with that one imo. I doubt Bens at home going “Woo! GS! I’;m set for lyfe!!!”…but then it is Ben…

With that said, that “Over experienced” shit is the most frustrating crap on earth when it comes to looking for work.

I think you’d get hired on here at our company despite the eye problem. I’m just on a help desk, though we have thousands of different areas as an IT company. Look up Pomeroy, hell you can use me as a reference if you want.

Interview felt like it went well. I was pretty nervous, but I don’t feel like I said or did anything stupid.

so i’m watching arrow, just as i thought their combining a bunch of green arrows into one. buuut i also think its pretty clear deathstroke was his mentor ala batman and the league of shadows.

Gamestop was considered one of the worst places in America to work.

Overqualified? Hey man, just don’t put it on your app.
