Eh, I’m with Damned. Sindel ending could have been better. Kinda sad to see the other MK characters go out like kung-fu movie extras. They could have at least gone out in a bigger blaze of glory, and not some perfunctory punch punch kick kick throw routine.

I’m still not sold on MK9 as a whole, MK4 and the PS2 games have turned me off the series for the longest time. Block button and stiff, awkard animations too. Good to see the usual SF4/MvC2/MvC3 streamers playing it, I guess…

I went to a MvC3 and MK9 tournament last weekend, was curious on the actual gameplay of MK9. I. Just. Don’t. Know. It looks like it could be fun, but like what 4neqs mentioned, it looked very stiff and I am not liking that block button, even when I played the first MK arcade cabinet at the venue. To me, it seems even more less appealing than MvC3.
It ain’t that bad my G. They are acting like you see one everytime you look down. If you go in the subway 20 times you’ll probably see a rat once. Unless you are deliberatelylooking for them. C’mon, son. Don’t act stupid. Everybody wants value in the things they buy. A story mode with an absolutely atrocious story is still better than what we’ve been given with most fighting games. Having something you can play besides vs., arcade, or training mode is kind of a plus.
The whole “I’d just go play an RPG” line is a really stupid reply to people enjoying the fact that the developers obviously cared enough to try and provide a more robust experience than just vs. mode. This can’t be that hard to understand.
Dynasty Warriors 7 is like that.
There is a story mode, and a conquest mode. Both are the exact same thing, but story mode just feels better even though they are practically the same.
The reasoning behind it? They put effort and time into story mode, so it doesn’t feel like the same grind it out hack and slash of conquest mode. You can actually sense and see what is happening chronologically within the kingdoms. It makes it seems better than conquest mode, but in reality it just the same shit.
I’m all for fighting games with better story mode.
Story doesn’t bother me much. I’m all for simplicity and dream matches. “Two people don’t like each other, fight” sounds good to me. But I’m definitely all for bonus content/unlockables/challenge modes.
