SRK Lounge ver 5 "Put on your sunday's best! Photon Cannon!"

(Lol at Joshua Gates always getting having some disaster mid-investigation.)

Another day slept away. Hurray.

At least I’m almost finished with this stupid part of the thing I’m walking on finally.

Yawn.

I’ve become even more predictable it would seem.

I thought you were linking to a trailer, asshole. Not exactly sure what’s going to entice someone to watch an 1 hour and a half shitty movie that they have to wait to load on top of everything else.

Lol.

Haha. Really? Sir McKellen is rather forward, then. (And I’d say he has no room talk, but then I remember both that the Wolverine movies came out came out after LOTR and he was pretty much the best thing about them.)

looks at the copy of the original Last House on the Left that he still hasn’t watched

…Fuck. I remember hearing some of this, but that’s not exactly encouraging. Also, you realize you linked to the remake’s page, right?

vaguely remembers this coming on Sci-Fi like a literal decade ago

Hunh.

Ah, come on Azrael. You can’t just leave it there. Explain why it’s so bad (since I’m assuming you’ve seen it).

Despite not caring one way or the other about Bieber (what with actively avoiding pop stars), I had to click on this just to see.

Looks like someone’s going to get raped.

Hunh. I don’t think that I’ve heard a single old Metallica song. It’s weird now that I think about it.

I mostly dont like how the american horror target demographic likes gore. bloodydisgusting.com is as close an equivalent to the shoryuken.com of horror movies as you’ll get, and i used to troll it back in the day. Every time a new horror movie would come out, they’d always complain if a movie got a pg-13 movie instead of an R rating. OH NOES it doesnt have boobs and gore!

Who cares? I can look at porn for boobs. For gore, I can go play an FPS. To me, a good scary movie is all about building up of suspense and creating an eerie environment. Gore in a movie typically ends up being over the top and cheesy, and makes the movie funny, not scary. That works out if its the intention of the director, such as in Evil Dead, but otherwise its just dumb. So i tend to prefer horror made in Japan. Juon for example was incredibly creepy to me. So was the Ring. The American versions were pretty good too. I also like Korean horror, since they have pretty good character development, such as The Host (although I’m not sure if it really falls neatly into the horror category - IMDB doesn’t think so either).

I dislike most western horror. I am also not a big fan of zombie movies, because they are too depressing. Humanity typically loses. Like in Return of the Living Dead. The zombies were sentient AND invincible, so humans never had a chance. So it goes without saying my favorite zombie flick is zombieland where the good guys actually win.

It would probably be easier to name the other few horror movies I did like… ummm… The Exorcist was good. I enjoyed People Under the Stairs, but that doesn’t fall under purely horror. I also love the evil dead trilogy. It is probably the only trilogy that consists of the first movie being horror, the second movie being a remake into a horror comedy, and the third one being pure comedy gold. Too bad Sam Raimi ruined his trilogy making legacy by making a new trilogy, casting the wrong guy for the main character, and turning the third movie into a musical, and casting the CORRECT actor for spiderman as venom instead. UGH.

Damned: Oops, fixed the link

Black Ninja is so bad it makes Godfrey Ho look like Martin Scorsese.

Some horror movies are both funny and creepy. Dead Ringers. Should a movie about identical twin gynecologists descending into drugs and madness be hilarious? Probably not but it is.

i didnt think of the host as horror, but it was a good movie. the only horror movies i “like” are ones with pseudo-religious themes (eg the omen), all the others like saw, leatherface, etc… are some combination of funny and terribad imo

Horror and gore should be two different category of movies. :coffee:

Korean and Japanese horror movie should be in a new category too and that category should be called “fucked up.”

lol i thought japanese horror had a genre called “mind fuck” for the longest time.

How awesome would it be if the Oscar gave out an award every year for most fucked up movie?

C’mon I know you’re smiling right now reading this. We have best picture, best animated, and we need “most fucked up.”

(E92zCs4sWto&feature=related]Lol at Radio Disney versions [)

I also think that I like the njwGpdXUFV8&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL]Metal version of “Dancing Queen”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG6G4XBnvLQ&feature=related[/media) better than the Death Metal version one. Funny how I didn’t even notice it until an hour later even though it was only a click away. Speaking of Metal, I think this guy is the only way that I can stand to listen to . Where the hell did you find this guy, Warpticon?

I can see that. While I can agree with the general sentiment, I can understand the compliant about R rating in some circumstances since I’ve done myself, at least in instances it’s obvious that a R rating would be better for the movie as a whole (for whatever reason) and they’re going with the PG-13 to make more money. It’s almost as irksome as the recent 3D trend in that case.

I concur with all of this, though I didn’t find Juon find scary in either case of the original or the American versions. I’m also still surprised about it, but I actually consider the American version of The Ring better than Ringu.

I still need to see The Host like many things I’ve been “intending” to see.

Ugh, I don’t know if it’s just my atheism or something, but I can’t stand “pseudo-religious” movies because of their heavy-handedness. (What’s exactly “pseudo” about The Omen anyway?)

In fact, I think the only religiously themed movies I like are Stigmata, Dogma and The Messenger, which are all pretty anti-religious.

Basically.

aww hell naw…

I blame Ono and Wiz for that one.

What the FUCK!

still listening to

…What the fuck. Who…? What…? Why.

…I’m guessing this is one of those Smith spawns? Regardless, that costume is so asymmetrically horrible among other things.

In Boel’s sig it says he a cash money ckrazillionaire. For those of you wondering how crazillionaires role this is how we role.

Like you’re completely disinterested in the money but enjoy the shoulder rub?

No no. We have so much cash that little cash doesn’t appeal to us. We are CkRAZILLIONAIRES! Thousands of dollars don’t do anything for us. We need a ckrazillions dollars or more to catch our attention. That was a “bro” shoulder tap. That’s how you say “you my nigga” no homo of course.

In your boxers, while another grown man makes it rain in your face. skeet skeet.

In reality, horror nerds do decry the PG-13 rating because it means their fetishistic adoration for gratuitous gore and nudity won’t be fulfilled. But, in theory, there is a legitimate complaint there. As we all know, a lot of movies are goosed into the lucrative PG-13 category–by censorship for the harder movies, and, less commonly, by selective application of dirtiness for softer movies. It’s a rather artificial and shameless way of pandering to the teen demographic.

It is particularly annoying in horror, because–keeping in mind, we’re in theory land here–it’s hard to imagine anything authentically horrific happening in circumstances where censorship has been applied to protect people’s imaginary sensibilities. It’s easy to imagine a shitty horror movie getting either a PG-13 or an R, but it’s difficult to imagine a good one getting anything softer than an R.

That “shoulder tap” looked a little more like a massage, a gay massage.

Someone explain black Mormons to me. How could any self-respecting black person (or anyone who is not some inbred looking douche from Utah who is Brigham Young’s kid) become a member of a religion that only admitted you were not monkeys in like 1980 something?

Yeah but if you take it further it’s like why would any self-respecting black person of today become a member of a religion forced on their ancestors by the end of a slave whip by their white masters?
