hk women are pretty forceful. like queens and such. they’re ambitious and strong and driven. i’d say most of the stereotypes are right. they aren’t bad, they’re just not that stereotypical asian girl image. shanghai women are kind of similar too. i don’t mind them though, they’re friendly enough. i don’t know about HK women in movies, i don’t watch enough television here to know how they act in movies or shows.
the people here are more friendly in a lot of ways than americans, so i’m not just complaining. i love it here or i would never have come back. i just think there is room for improvement, same as anywhere. one of the things i also don’t like is how rare it is to see teenagers give up their seat for the elderly or pregnant ladies on the MTR or buses. part of me thinks it’s because of the ‘little emperor’ syndrome where asian children are pampered and spoiled from an early age by their extended family.
also i have to give credit where credit is due, when people answer their phones in the theater there are often other people shushing them.

The quake/tsunami mostly wrecked house up north. Rural/suburban towns along the coast. Down where I’m at in Kansai it was business as usual by Saturday. I felt it because I work on the 16th floor, but a lot of people didn’t feel anything. Watching all the destruction on the news and what not it may seem like Japan as a whole got devastated, but it’s really only that area.
My experience with XBL is limited, but from what I’ve seen it is far better for user interface and general use. The nice thing about PSN is that it’s free. While clumsier than XBL, if I just want to play online and don’t really care about friends lists and stuff like that, PSN is good for that.
As for the Xross Media Bar, I guess I’m just used to it? I don’t think it’s any better or worse than the 360 menus.
Oh yeah, about Nagoya in July (sorry it took me forever to get to this) - possible? Not sure yet.

Anyways back on topic (if that’s possible in this thread) I’ve met some bad Koreans, and I’ve met some nice ones. It’s the same for every race/nationality.
I could argue all day as to why I think PS3 is better than the 360. The main problem I have with the 360 is the fact you need to pay 70$ a year just for a glorified Gamespy/Matchmaking system. All Live does is pair you up with someone, then the rest is reliant on your connection and your opponents. Once you’re in a match in, let’s say, MvC3 the smoothness of the match is based on your internet connection and your opponents, 95% of games on the 360 and PS3 are P2P. The only time they aren’t is when that game has dedicated servers, Battlefield Bad Company 2 has dedicated servers on both systems for example.
Not to mention once your 70$ subscription runs out, you can’t play any game online until you renew it. That’s bullshit, imo. That means 1/2 the content on the games you have is locked out because you didn’t give Microsoft 70$ to renew their subscription to their version of Gamespy. When I hear shit like “ONLINE ON THE 360 IS BETTAR.” It’s just not true. Maybe the matchmaking might be a bit faster in some cases(?) but in no way is it better when you’re actually playing the game. PS3’s menus(XMB) are instant, the only time they ever need to load up is when you hit the home button when you’re in a game. Otherwise, navigating the XMB to do anything when not in a game is instant. Whenever I go to my music or videos it’s instant, the only time it ever loads is when I go into the game save section of the PS3. As for in-game chat, it depends on the game. Most games have voice chat, some don’t, and either way you can just message each other over the XMB if you need to if the game doesn’t have some form of in-game chat.
The hardware of the 360 is the most unreliable in any gaming system of all time. My brother had his 360 RROD 2 times. He fixed it both times, then his hard drive died. He borrowed my other brother’s 360, then guess what? RROD. He couldn’t fix that 360, so he took the hard drive from that newly RROD’d 360 and put it in his old one. Guess what happened? That hard drive died too. Every single person I know except for 1 buddy of mine has had their 360 break or develop weird problems, and once Microsoft decides they don’t want to fix it for them anymore they were either forced to pay for a repair, get a new 360, or wise up and get a PS3. I’m sometimes surprised as to how loyal some people are to Microsoft and the bullshit they put them through. When my brother added up all of his Live subscriptions it was over 300$. “That’s a PS3 right there.”

…also in that same dream… “Michael Savage” was another friend, and he occasionally would record one of the shows right there at my house.
*In another random “hang out with famous people” dream I just remembered… I was hanging out in a bar, having a drink with Craig Kilborn. I was in a depressed frame of mind, but Kilborn was there to save the day with his jokes and talk show style. The great thing is that the “live studio audience” could be heard every time he hit did a one-liner or did a funny reference to something. Another cool thing that I was jealous off immediately…this guy actually got his show’s theme music (*the “Play that Funky Music White Boy!” song.) played when he arrived at the bar. I’d love to have my own theme music play when I arrive at various places.
*oh yeah—ALERT: Dana Delaney has the new show “Body of Proof” which premieres March 29th on ABC. Hell yes, I will be watching. Ms. Delaney is classic MILF hotness.
I spent some time in San Antonio for a week this past January. Nothing will really be foreign to you, but I’d be willing to say San Antonio has some of the most beautiful women I’ve seen in sometime. Then again, I live in Richmond, so that’s not sayin’ too much
But seriously, I enjoyed San Antonio. It’s really clean, always warm, and the people are extra nice down there. I’d move there if I could.
that’s pretty much the only reason. if someone is older than you then they can treat you like shit and you more or less have to deal with it. making excuses out how they were raised is immaterial since the issue of “manners” concerns the collective values of the culture not any one individual.

lolz I got in a verbal fight with an old Korean guy once at a restaurant. There was another Korean guy at the table that looked in his mid 20s that told me I shouldn’t argue with the old guy because he’s a lot older than me. Fuck that shit! That Korean bitch at their table started it by asking my GF why she’s dating a black guy. She was basically talking to my GF as if she was a slut for dating a black guy. So my GF was mad and then I got mad and then next thing I know, I was close to knocking out a old Korean guy and younger Korean guy.
Only respectful thing I believe in is not hitting women. I’ll choke a grandpa out though if he gets rowdy with me.
