Na, just highlighting that I’m not savvy on other figure lines like Transformers, GI Joes, etc. I know that transformers are BIG on SRK. I can’t hang. What I can hang with is any baseball card collection out there. I’d rally a good bet that I’ve got just about most major baseball cards out there from 1985 up until about 95, 96ish. Probably even further. I honestly don’t know because a good half of my collection is unopened packs/boxes. Lost of them. When people say they have “a lot” of cards, they usually say something like 1 single big box. We have multiple of those, packed full. Probably three closet shelves at my dad’s house are overflowed with nothing but cards in boxes. That doesn’t include the 2 dozen or so full binders of individually sleeved cards. Also a decent number of NBA, NFL & NHL cards, too, but not near as much as baseball.
It actually wasn’t me doing all the collecting, but my mother. We bonded over nerdy collecting, so this stuff is kinda hard to get rid of since it hold so much sentimental value. :tup:

yeah my dad and I collect cards as well. Not so many baseball cards or football cards, but I have pretty much every rookie card from the last 40 years, and a ton of famous players rookies from the old school days. I have SEVERAL Wayne Gretzky ones (several Topps and O Pee Chee), and last I checked I had 22 Patrick Roy rookie cards lol. I also have a few entire sets of Magic cards still. Nothing from after Alliances though. I have LOADS of hockey sets though. Two entire rooms full of cards lol, I’ll try to remember to take pics next time I visit my parents place (my old room is now a Leafs shrine)

I’ve always had a semi love hate relationship with Star Wars. some of my friends are heavily into it while I’ve always been “meh.” My son’s gotten me back into it again, though. My figures collection just kinda sits there and I forgot all about it until my son started taking a liking to Storm Troopers. I downloaded the original trilogy movies for him, but he’s still too young to really enjoy them.

So I was explaining to my primo that Sara from the Samurai Champloo episode, Elegy of Entrapment was an homage to the character Makie Tachibana from Blade of the immortal in a way. Who later becomes sort of an homage to Ukyo Tachibana from Samurai Spirits who in turn is the video game rendition of Sasaki Kojiro. Needless to say adding alchohol to that conversation didn’t make things any less confusing.

Nice to be able to play SSF4:AE at max settings, even if I’m not in love with the game. I have to say, though, it’s still compulsively playable.
More importantly, I’m gonna have to re-validate XP since I had an OEM version, and I have a feeling that whole process is gonna be a pain in the ass.
edit: speaking of America, Hetalia is pretty great. After I watch a movie or TV show or whatever, sometimes I’ll check out YouTube to see what other people thought about it. There are unfortunately quite a few self-hating weeaboos who enjoy Hetalia. I don’t even like the word weeaboo, but it seems exactly accurate. Also, there seem to be a lot of “shippers” who want the different male characters to fuck each other.
Anyway, that’s what I get for reading YouTube comments, I guess…
Also, it’s fucking brilliant that they’re 5-minute episodes. In this age of Internet-based ADD, it feels almost perfect.
