It’s just, even ignoring my massive trust issues, one of the numerous things I never understood about “normal” society is why alcohol-laden settings are supposed to so good for “meeting people” (read: finding someone to have sex with) when there are so many negative aspects associated with them; interpret “them” as you will. I mean, I get that not every (female) one-night stand is going to cry rape of course even if they feel remorseful or that every tryst even involves alcohol (or other drugs). I just don’t see how the potential risks outweigh the benefits if alcohol is involved and, optimist that I am, I don’t want to just chalk this up to the socially-instilled male desperateness for sex that The Manipulated Man talks about.
