you couldn’t figure out if the original lyrics were accurate, they were just a garbled mess to begin with (although this may be just because i’m a native spanish speaker and in songs I find it hard to make out the words). Lyrically the song sucks donkey dicks; which is ok because Nirvana has been overrated by leaps and bounds.
If Miley Cyrus got up there and did Jesus Christ Posse or Jeremy, then we’d have something to fight about; but I’d still give her a nod for appreciating good music. But getting mad over Smells like Teen Spirit? Nigga give me a break.
I don’t really disagree or agree lol. They were an amazing band and that song captured the voice of a generation. Here we are now entertain us. Who knows how they would have fared after, if Kurt hadn’t eaten a shutgun blast. Their later sales were nothing like early sales, and too many factors exist (Courtney, death of Grunge, etc). The mere fact his life and death and music gets this much debate only solidifies his legend status.
How do you know Kurt had dandruff?
They found his head and shoulders behind the couch.
What was the last thing that went through Kurts mind, right before he died?
Buckshot.
FIGHT ME: I still have no clue why anybody really gives a shit about the whole biggy tupac thing though. Now THAT was overrated. To this day, I still care more about the Tyson fight the night 2Pac died
Lemme know when she busts out Pantera - Walk. I think the only possible claim she could make on that song is if it was playing in the background on MTV the night she was conceived. 16000 dislikes seems like such a small number.
SoVi3t fact o’ the day: according to random googling, Achy Breaky Heart came out the same year as that song (and ranked higher on the charts)
Except it’s not. It’s a statement based on my own personal listening of both bands’ music. Not saying I don’t like Nirvana, but Dave Grohl wouldn’t be doing awesome if he hadn’t gotten his own band.
You know why Foo Fighters > Nirvana? Because Grohl didn’t marry Courtney Love.
Also, Alice in Chains > Nirvana. Layne Staley was a better emo songwriter than Kurt.
NIN > all of them. Must be time to start tiering rock bands.
We talking high-off-his-ass Scott Weiland or temporarily-sober-after-a-few-stints-in-rehab Scott Weiland?
I’ve heard the criticisms of STP when they first came out, people saying they were copying Pearl Jam. I call bullshit on that. There’s no comparison between them. STP >>> Pearl Jam.
Nirvana’s the shit. Who cares if Miley covered it. It’s really not that big a deal. I understand people get real passionate about music, I certainly do, but gettin all riled up cuz some girl who hasn’t gone through the kind of stuff that inspires a song like Smells like Teen Spirit is some stupid shit to get all worked up over.
And so is ranking bands. foo are awesome, Nirvana is awesome, A lot of bands are fucking awesome. it really doesn’t matter how they stack in the long run cuz they all contribute to the over all wonder that is music. Nirvanas not over rated they just touched a whole generation with Nevermind. It was the right place at the right time.
And Grohls wasted on Guitar. He should go back to drums.
Nigga you trollin’. Baby soft requests from a elementary panty girlman. If she did Cowboys from Hell, she would also be dropping some bombs. fucking walk, is all your musical taste top 40?
Pretty much.
I don’t know about that NIN > All of them. Sound Garden was pretty godlike and Tool started around that time. You also have to deal with early Sepultura and other bands doing awesome stuff but in different styles. Yo, Ace of Base > Nirvana.
Can take away this guy’s black card? It’s like your the anti-nigga with your musical selection. At this point I go harder than you in my music, and yo, I love that Billy Joel and Bee Gees.
I wouldn’t go that far. I had a chance to watch STP for free and walked out of the place because they were late and didn’t want to put up with the weather. That’s like saying that Korn > Rage Against the Machine. Two different to put one over the other.
I mean NIN > the bands I mentioned. Soundgarden is awesome as well, provided Chris Cornell doesn’t try to start another side band.
They were probably late because Weiland was too fucked up to perform. Music wise, though, I put their sound above Pearl Jam’s. The only reason I even mentioned it was because that was STP’s stigma when they first appeared on the scene, that they were just a Pearl Jam clone, which I think is bunk.
