Have fun grabbing gasoline for a bunch of lazy assholes, and getting your save stuck in some bugged out spot/Shitty game design that makes you have to start your entire game over. Fucking escort missions and Asian bitches.
Game looked so nice too, so many things they could have done with it, especially how scary and tense it COULD be at times. Well it’s been a year so I bet most of the bugs are patched hopefully, too bad the game lacks in content to make me want to go back to it or even care for a sequel.
Took me all night to download it… I was in bed before it was done. I’ll play it I suppose when I get home.

I guess. I have games on my shelf i never plan on returning to ever. I don;t consider them a part of my backlog tho. Just games i thought I would enjoy and didn’t on the shelf they go until i find someone who would like to play them or some such other type need for them.

@bkfst_sausage You could try out the Escape from Monkey Island games too if you haven’t already. I’m not really a fan of adventure games though, I find every one I’ve played to be really boring with a combination of archaic gameplay.
@The Martian Game’s out in a few days for everyone to play. It’s still technically in “beta” but the game is just going to keep getting updated from the point of the open beta release until they don’t consider it as being in beta anymore. Once you create a new character in a few days on open beta release though, you’ll be able to keep that character/items/whatever you get indefinitely, whereas characters that are in the “closed beta” right now are going to get their characters GGPO’d, which is why I stopped playing.
Game has a shitload of content. There’s a huge world to explore and a dumb amount of missions to do, with New Game+ on top. Game just needs better combat…for some reason, melee in first person games is typically really fucking wack. Games like Skyrim/Dead Island have arguably worse gameplay than the Hexen/Heretic games and those came out over a decade and a half ago. I could say the same thing about King’s Field too…first person melee mechanics haven’t really changed that much over time. I mean in Dishonored you can block/parry shit, but that was about as far as the melee combat depth went in that game.
I consider Borderlands/Skyrim/Fallout 3 and NV/Dead Island to be similar type of games, but they all vary like crazy in quality and fun. The Fallout games put me to sleep at times, but overall I enjoyed Skyrim more than both of the modern Fallout games. Less bullshit, more fun and typically more going on at times than those games.
Game’s nothing like Torchlight II outside of them being the same genre. The graphics, gameplay, characters, monster/level design is crazy different. I also find Path of Exile more fun than Torchlight, and as someone I see constantly posting in the Souls game thread, you should try this game out.

@Nando @The Martian How does the DLC in Dark Souls work? I hear you have to be at a specific point in the game to access it or some shit? I’d like to know for when I eventually get it.
Yeah I own all of those games except Baja. I didn’t know what the hell Baja was, so I googled it. It’s similar to MotorStorm/Pure/ATV Offroad games I’m guessing? I actually had a lot of fun with Pure, it’s an over-the-top arcade style racer that is just fun to play. I bought Pure, ATV Offroad Fury and The Saboteur for less than 10 bucks a pop, was worth it. Saboteur was a really solid open-world game, way better than I thought it was going to be, actually. For some reason I never finished Pure and ATV Offroad, even though I enjoyed playing them. Burnout: Paradise and Midnight Club: L.A. are the only racing games I’ve beaten this gen next to Blur and a random Need for Speed game or two, and Ridge Racer on PSP. I lose interest really fast in a lot of racers these days for some reason…If it’s not a wacky, off-the-walls arcade racer and aims for realism like Gran Turismo/Forza, I don’t want anything to do with it.
Edit: Donate those games to friends/family that you think might like them. I bought Nier for 3.99 for my brother, just because it was cheap as fuck+the game is good+he enjoys action games/ARPGs, so I figured he’d like it. I said that if he didn’t want to play it, I’d just give it to his son, then he quickly said “NAH I’LL PLAY IT!” 
I liked The Saboteur but I dunno if I’ll ever play it again. Bajas more on the realistic side, I find that game frustrating cuz you can hit one little bump in the road and the race is over. Shits a pain.

A shitload of missions? It’s just the same shit over and over again, rinse and repeat, with no new added elements. The game thinks adding cheesy nonsensical cut scenes that make zero sense btw will add some depth but they just made the game that much more laughable. It’s always feels like it’s a half finished game, with you running around trading shit for diamonds and killing the same zombie for the 1000 time with your Mcguyver gear.
The best thing this franchise has going for it is the controversy over the dumb ass bikini torso.
Speaking of backlogs and Dark Souls…

Some racing games are evil, with rubberbanding AI that is literally right on your ass waiting to take over your 1st place spot from 1 mistake. 99% of racing games in the 90’s were like that, and it’s still the case today with most racing games. Some are more forgiving than others, and some allow you to get so far ahead in 1st place that you can eventually afford to make mistakes.
It’s cause we haven’t played 3S:OE over PSN yet.
All similar games like Borderlands/Fallout 3/NV/Skyrim/etc is basically the same type of missions rehashed as well. I thought what was there in Dead Island was pretty fun though, and there is a lot of content, even if a lot of is similar. Then again, like I said, in all these types of games it’s all rehashed stuff anyway, down to straight up copy-pasted areas in some cases.
I dunno, I felt everything changed up quite a bit based on what area you were in. The Island/inner city/jungle/prison area were all pretty different. Game just needs better combat, damn it. The most fun is popping my X-factor and killing zombies in 1-2 hits.
