By strange coincidence I was somewhere the other day and they had a Rampage arcade machine. They also had an SF2:WW cabinet, so of course I ignored Rampage.
Haven’t played WW in a very, very long time. Jumps, shoto jumps at least, seemed floatier than in the other SF2 games. Also, there is a crazy amount of slowdown after a fireball etc. I’d forgotten about how much there was.
Speaking of old arcade games, when I was a kid, my brother borrowed a copy of the Simpsons arcade game for our Commodore 64. It was fucking amazing, because there was no other way to play it. And I remember it being just like the arcade game.

Yeah, I’ve been fuxing around with SF2CE recently after playing CvS exclusively. Want to connect with that Guile backhand after a sonic boom? Nope! They bullet time the shit out of that.
That’s probably a good thing, though. Guile doesn’t need to be any more abusive than he was in those early games.
Remember when it was acceptable for games to have shittier graphics/mechanics than their arcade counterparts? Another example of a bygone era.
I think the turning point was when X-Men vs. Street Fighter was ported to Saturn and Playstation. The difference in faithfulness between those two versions was just ludicrous.
