If you don’t install the drivers from AMD you don’t get proper 3D accelleration. The drivers that Microsoft install on fresh install do not include hardware acceleration.
Back in the old days you knew your drivers weren’t installed because the default drivers only allowed like 640x480 resolution or some shit. The screen looked like vomit and you would immediately go download the correct drivers to stop the eyebleed. Today, it’s really easy to forget since Windows makes the screen look pretty. You don’t discover it until you go to play some 3D game and it runs like a fucking slideshow.

My 7970 ran Dark Souls 3 at 40-60 FPS on Max settings. Overall it was smoother than the PS4 version, but there was something off about it, something off about the way the game felt. It looks marginally better than Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin yet it doesn’t run nearly as well. Digital Foundry put out a couple videos on the game and unless you have a 970 or 390 it won’t run at a consistent 60 FPS no matter what you do @ 1080p.
The PC version has a lot of issues, bugs and glitches. Also there are people with 5XX and 6XX series NVidia cards who reverted to older drivers and got increased performance from doing so. Turns out NVidia really was purposefully nuking performance of older cards to get people to upgrade. Pretty fucking sleazy.
It was either SNAAAAAAAKE or NickRocks who turned me on to caffeine pills. Shit cost me $7 for 60 caps, all of which I cut in half. That half-dose gives me energy for about 3-4 hours. I was spending $3 on energy drinks every few days, especially in the summer when I was out partying during the week. Shit was expensive.
I pretty much made it super affordable using these shits, but I ain’t going full Jesse Spano on them.

1 8 oz. can of Red Bull = $2.00-2.49, depending on where you live. I, however, have never seen it cheaper than $2.
1 200 mg pill of caffeine = $0.12.
One can of Red Bull contains 68 mg of caffeine.
Seriously, buy the pills to your caffeine level or just buy the highest ones like I did and cut the pill in half. A pill splitter on Amazon is about $5 shipped. You, and your wallet, will thank me later.
