It’s not our job to get you up to date. It’s your job to remove yourself from privilege and build trusting relationships with people who have been marginalized so that you can educate yourself through experiences with them. While I agree with you that everyone has a struggle, not everyone has the same type of struggle. So you can say “everyone has money, so no one should be stuck in poverty” but that’s not the truth. It’s funny to me when people are concerned about push back from a behavior that the dominant culture created. Yes, it divides us but we’ve been divided. I think the marginalized group needs to heal and however that happens, short of physical harm to others or themselves, it should be respected and the core of the pain should be understood.[/details]

One time I was rotating the tires on my car and these two dudes walked up to me. They asked me how I was doing and if they could help. I told them i’m good but thank you, and then they asked if I had time. I indulged them.
