Haha. It seems like Frank Cho did at least three other parody covers of that original cover that set off the Cammy comic “controversy” that XVideos posted about a couple of pages ago. I also forgot that the original cover it’s based on still has this uncanny valley aspect going on between Spider-woman’s mask on the upper half of her face and her “real” unmasked lower half of her face:
Brrrr… Pose aside, the art is well-done like Frank Cho’s, but something about the facial disconnect just strikes me as really, disconcertingly off even though that may well be the intention and what Spider-woman’s costume would actually look like.
Haha. Of the parodies, the Wonder Woman one may be my favorite, especially since for a second it looked like Batman was Black Panther:
I actually contacted Uber about it and spoke to a rep saying I won’t be using their services anymore. Gonna try and start a Facebook campaign and get other new Yorkers on it.
Yeah I don’t give a fuck. Drivers out there getting too much power while not addressing how they themselves have a lot of shit tendencies passengers just deal with.
My grandma would routinely pull out her word processor (a machine similar to a typewriter for your PA-aged folks) and bang out angry letters whenever she felt wronged by a company.
(So what options exist besides Uber at this point if you want to use one of these stupid ride-sharing services but not use Uber?)
Outside of taxis, there’s still only Lyft, right? I mean, obviously that Chariot or whatever “women’s safety!” bullshit that’s supposedly coming out doesn’t count, at least for anyone here, even if it wasn’t likely to crash and burn like that child-oriented ride-sharing service recently did.
(Yeah, never heard of Gett. I guess I’ll keep it in mind even though I’ve no interest in using such things at present. Thanks.)
Completely unrelated, but posting the Wonder Woman thing reminds me of something I’ve been meaning to ask for a while: @RockBogart, is it true that the New 52 version of Wonder Woman a) saw Diana getting made into the daughter of Zeus and b) made the rest of the Amazons man-hating, man-murdering cu**nts that make even most other stereotypical versions of “straw feminists” look tame?
If so on either point, then that sucks. Amazons Attack and related stupidity aside, pre-New 52 Amazons were actually good, interesting, and mostly decent people who just happened to be warriors and women instead of misandrists who reveled in slaughter.
It’s been going well. The department I’m in doesn’t have too many people and my rev numbers are pretty high, so I get a lot of hours. Currently, I’m part time, but I get well over 32 hours a week and get paid time and a half for the overtime. My free time is almost non-existent, but the money is good.
The people I work with are really fun to be around. It makes working 8-10 hour days so much easier than I thought it’d be. Oh, and then there’s the discount .
I’ve had to commute all the way to Connecticut for sales training for the past few days. It’s annoying to do so, but I get paid for it and the trainer is cool. Last day is tomorrow.
If there’s anything specific you want to know, feel free to ask.
