SRK Lounge the Maybe Christmas Edition

You better not be lying. After the disaster that was Basalisk, I had to coax my friend into ever watching an anime again. Luckily, I hadn’t watched Kaiji despite liking Akagi. We started watching it and he likes it too. After we’re done with this maybe we’ll give this new JoJo’s a look see. If it sucks, that’ll be your e-ass.

I’m still watching Oz too. Show is great. That goes without saying but something I’ve never heard it praised for is the music. The undertones are the best I’ve ever heard. Everything is so on point with some simple bongos. I want someone to hit some bongos when I say something subtly menacing.

I’ve always regretting picking up Demon’s Souls. It’s not a bad game, it just never clicked with me. I don’t have fun when I play it. It feels like a chore.

Oh well you win some, you lose some.

man, that Quake II vid brought me back. 1996. playing the demo in the college computer lab. pausing it when i had to help out the students. getting my 40 year old coworker into it. listening to him scream obscenities so loud when he played, he scared some of the students to the point they filed a complaint

those were mostly sentence fragments to parallel my memory fragments.

Quake 2 is GDLK, but I prefer Quake 1 over it. This mod is making me like it a lot more though, plus I was able to turn off infinite ammo+double weapon speed. Feels basically the same as the original now, except I think my movement is a bit faster still, but I don’t mind that at all.

I don’t regret a single purchase I made this gen. Then again, 99% of my purchases this gen were all under 20-10$, so even if I were to regret something, It’d be hard to because I spent barely anything. Patience=sub 20$ games shortly after release!

Filthy peasant casual. :coffee:

I couldn’t get into Demon’s Souls when I first got it years ago around release. Game made me its bitch and nothing made sense at first. Then, everything clicked, and that game grew on me like a fungus does under ones toenails.

Lol hey I’m pretty devoted to other genres bucko lol.

I’ve been doing this more often myself. I waited on ME3 till i found it for 25 bucks. I’d have been full of regret if i had paid 60, but for 25 I feel I got my moneys worth. Like that game quite a bit for the price I paid.

Like what? :wow:

SRK’s current standard of usability is hilarious. It’s legitimately a laughingstock by now. Click reply = nothing happens. Click like = nothing happens. Click the formatting tools in the posting window = nothing happens. Click anything = nothing happens.

Who convinced them to buy this Edsel?

I did not know that arranging music for floppy disk drives was a thing, but apparently it is. This is cool:

This is what happens when the “Everybody’s entitled to look out for themselves without obligation to others” capitalistic mentality collides with the fact that not everybody is given equal agency under a capitalistic system. :coffee:

This is what happens when people who aren’t reflective enough to think about what their actions are accomplishing (beyond the immediate result of getting material possessions) are also giant pussies who think they’re hard but aren’t going to do shit when there’s a chance of actual consequences coming down on them. :coffee:

As an independent musician,
Yes, I am playing this card. I am one of these elusive idiot bastards who actually operates a musical instrument in front of people. Anyone who doesn’t like it can gargle a cup of my nuts.
my personal view of CDs and recorded music in general is that they are promotional materials. They exist to make people aware of the existence of the music, to interest them in the live shows, and to be a stopgap listening opportunity between one show and the next.

Depending on the production standard and how the studio environment is utilized, the recorded music can be a worthy musical work in its own right, but the fact remains that the brief age of records-as-the-chief-source-of-music-related-income is gone–in fact, it came and went rather quickly. The live event, as it was for thousands of years before Edison, is where the value is in being a performing musician. I think the idea of recorded music as its own commodity is mainly the result of the invention of record labels and their attempts to minimize the level of authority that the artists themselves have in their own careers.

The listener is currently at liberty to set value for an album, and that value is going to be $0.00 unless the musician inspires a sense of obligation in the listener. This almost invariably means building hype and a sense of community through live music.

So really, if people want to listen to the recordings that my band makes without paying for them, I say fuck it. Let 'em do it. Not everybody’s going to come to the shows, but some will. :coffee:

I would like to see this happen. Go for it, Batman. Let 'er rip. Hard as you can. :coffee:

Groovy. Yay capitalism. :coffee:

Batman Slapping Superman…Huh…Hope Batman likes a glass full of shattered hand.

was at the club last night…feeling a little down and then they played this song that i had heard a few times and never paid attention…but they had the video on as well. needless to say, my swag was immediately put on 100,000 x 10^9 (one hundred thousand trillion for ya’ll that fail @ scientific notation).

I’m going to bet it was ‘Kiss from a Rose’

Murdah a ninja. That probably won’t work, Batman isn’t Samus, I will agree.
But he could be straight out of Japan with the 450 Hayabusa Splash.

Why would they just leave the house, better yet how would they? Do they just leave all of their belongings inside the home? Where would they be able to stay for however long it took them to sell their home? It already establishes that their financial situation is tight, therefore they need the money to establish wherever this “new home” would be. Not to say that they even fully believe that everything that’s going on is a direct correlation to the house.

I mean yeah, they could just up and physically leave, but that’s not a realistic option given their circumstances.

The fuck…
