SRK Lounge the Maybe Christmas Edition

Apparently hella people in DRD’s community are eSport.

Nah, some people just want to be good at fighting games, whether that’s doing well at EVO or a major, or just being the best in their area. It’s an admirable goal, and for some it IS unrealistic, but I think it’s important to have goals that make you push yourself. This guy disagrees, and says that they should all just give up unless they’re in the top 1% of players. I just want to know what’s wrong with striving to better yourself or be good at something, even if it’s just a hobby.

SEGA did right with the DLC. for Final Showdown. I get more out of that customization than anyother game. Got characters with stuff I like and to old school Sega games. The other stuff from companies is a rip off in comparison, so I don’t buy their customizations.

Then Saints Row 3 and SleepyDogs are short-as-hell OPEN WORLD GAMES and have more content sold as DLC than was in the actual game. Talk about a waste.

Wait, what?

Is it a lack of depth perception? Someone explain this shit to me.

Shit maybe I am the one that’s retarded here because all I see in THIS text, is a guy getting mad at a bunch of man children for trying to talk down to him when he bust his ass, and they more than likely still live with their parents and their biggest ambition in life is being Luke Edwards from The Wizard. Of course the only thing they have in common with him is the autism. No but really I think he needs a break from all that if he is letting a bunch of cornballs actually get to him.

Speaking of THQ, I hope they learned after the Humble THQ Bundle sold over 800,000 copies was that games will sell more if they’re cheaper, especially on PC.

my buddy is loving that bundle. ALL media companies need to learn this. How are those movie/cd sales going, MPAA/RIAA/MAFIAA???

That feeling when I get sales simply by doing nothing.

Fuck this stiff as hell AQUIRE process…

Some DLC/pre-order nonsense blows my mind, especially when it’s all bundled or free in other countries but chopped up here for different companies to distribute as incentives. Example being like Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Pre-ordering that in the EU netted you everything: Swoop character, G2 Bruticus, G1 Optimus and the guns. Whereas all of that was split here between Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon among others and sold at a later date.

Another is when content that is already included is locked out. Anarchy Reigns for example has Bayonetta and game modes being locked out unless you pre-order (Or I assume pay down the road) uh…why? Doesn’t Japan get all of that from the beginning, I could be ignorant here but it’s not a first time issue.

Though there is a lot of good DLC, or optional stuff I enjoy. I got SFIV costume packs because even though my ass is getting beat at least I can look better than the other person.

Just the nickel and diming method is stupid. They need to take a cue from restaurants that that shit doesn’t work for repeat customers. Unless you are CoD.

Going to try and get that Playstation All-Stars as a gift, looks pretty fun. Oh and free DLC for it.

woo hoo! Work called and gave me the day off (probably because it’s illegal to make somebody work more than 12 days in a row without their consent). It’s gonna be a pants off video game day, today!

@DaRabidDuckie so you’re a fan of cigars, eh? I am gonna have to hook you up with Cuban Cigars sometime, unless they’re illegal to ship to 'Murrica

My thoughts exactly. Look at the stupidity of Azura’s Wrath. Sure, the DLC warranted extra money (like the Akuma fight and Ryu fight), but making the actual end boss of the game a DLC only download? Retarded.

I just find that companies are releasing EVERYTHING as expensive DLC, rather than being occasionally nice to fans or rewarding them for pumping so much damn money into the company. Don’t even get me started on the Pay 2 Win nonsense either.

Yeah, like early DLC (Outside of horse armor) was pretty extensive or actually added new content that was worth the asking price for the most part. But as soon as companies saw the amount of money it generate it switched to a “How can we distribute the least amount of content for the most amount of money” situation. Now DLC is planned before a games launch instead of something a team adds after release in most instances.

I’m just not to thrilled about this next generation of gaming consoles. I don’t see how it can improve so much to warrant me spending more money on a console. All of the rumors for consoles is rather meh, and while I like the Wii-U it’ll be graphically inferior and has online issues that annoy me from a social standpoint. Gaming gone big business has kind of soured my expectations I think.

What is stupid is that people actually defend this practice.

They are probably the same people that ask you were you like to PURCHASE your music from lol.

I like buying CDs at shows. That way I know artists will get some money for a CD sale.

Hahaha EAD nigga!

It is kinda hard to have people autograph a mp3 player…

I don’t do it often but I like going to live shows and buying CDs. Downloading an album just isn’t the same as unwrapping a CD and putting it in. I would like to buy all the albums I have acquired in interesting ways but eh, get a job first and then deal with that.

That is why you have posters for

Mission complete…

New copy in hand…

Wtf is this voice over disc pack that came with it though…

People swear like it’s our fault that their praticular Dell machine had problems. Get a warranty next time fuckheads.

Some companies put out free “DLC” like Valve and Blizzard. Maybe some other companies like the dudes who put out Guild Wars do the same? That game gets free content here and there, right?

They are, but you can get around that. I know several friends who work for UPS, and they said they pretty much don’t give a shit what you ship as long as you bring the box already packaged up and ready to go, and say it’s nothing perishable or fragile.

That said, I wouldn’t do it right now. My humidor is boxed up and needs re-seasoned.
