A few things, here. First off, if you don’t say it as an insult(there is a fine distinction here that not everyone can make), it’s usually not an issue; second off, you don’t need anyone’s permission to say what you will(that’s free speech for you, but beware of talking shit and getting hit), and as long as, again, you don’t say stuff like that in a negative way, people generally won’t have a problem with you. And thirdly, stop tiptoeing on eggshells/act casually around people and treat them as equals regardless of how you talk to them/what you talk about around them and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how fast they respond in kind.
